·  Bell Ringer: Sentence Combining Practice
·  Reading: Finish discussion on Irony in Lamb to Slaughter and begin reading “The Dangerous Game”- with active reading notes (talk to the text)
·  Writing: Practicing claims and counter claims for Argumentative writing
·  Homework: Novel Project / Activities:
·  Bell Ringer: Sentence Combining Practice
·  Reading: Model Extended Responses on Over Head (rewrites if needed)
·  Finish reading “The Dangerous Game” and begin Illustrations for analysis. (7th block Map reward time while working on illustrations)
·  Writing: Timed Writing 3.8 paragraph with a counter claim
·  Homework: Finish illustrated favorites poster: Favorite Ironies and Fig Language. / Activities:
·  Bell Ringer: Sentence Combining practice
·  Reading: “Dangerous Game” Illustrations due
·  Novel Project Planning sheets due. Students need a plan for the board and a basic understanding of all the required parts of the presentation requirements.
·  Writing: 90 minutes timed writing practice using a passage based argumentative prompt
·  Those students who were proficient on the first argumentative test will have time to work on novel projects quietly reading and planning for their projects or working on the computer on compass.
·  Homework: Reminder to Students that Novel Projects will be due One week after Spring Break / Activities:
