Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur Services will be led by Rabbi Deborah Slavitt and Cantor Judith Berkson.

Locations: Evening services will be held at the Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) Synagogue (formerly CTI) at
501 South Main Street, Andover. Daytime services will be at the Andover Country Club, 60 Canterbury Street, Andover.

Congregation Beth Israel is the merger of Congregation Tifereth Israel of Andover and Temple Beth El of Lowell, and is the future of the Conservative movement in the Merrimack Valley. It is a progressive, egalitarian congregation and welcomes you to our first joint High Holidays services.

For the safety of all congregants, anyone attending services MUST wear a security ID badge, so you must register with the office IN ADVANCE for anyone who will attend.

Tickets are not required for paid members. Ushers will have a membership list at the door.
One-half of the dues must be paid in advance of the High Holiday services to be considered a member for the services.

Tickets for Non-Members

Non-members must purchase tickets in order to attend. Tickets are $125 (a different mailing indicated $100) per adult (18 or over) and children under 18 are free. Students from Phillips Andover are invited to attend for free. Other students (for example, college students in the area) are requested to purchase tickets at a price of $18 per student.

To order tickets, call the Synagogue office at 978-474-0540. Leave a message on the answering machine that includes: the number of adult tickets you would like, the number of student tickets you would like, your name, your phone number, and your address. We will contact you to confirm your ticket request and to determine the best way to get your tickets to you.

Junior Congregation / Youth Services

Youth services are planned for two three age groups. Services will start at approximately be held 10:30 and last for 2 hours– 12:00. At all other times children should be with their parents.

Other Information

Babysitting will be provided free of charge for children between the ages of 2 and 8.

We ask for your cooperation with our ushers at the entrance doors. When the ark is open, it is not appropriate to enter or leave the sanctuary.

Please use the front doors to enter and exit at CBI unless you require the ramp entrance.

Please honor the Yom Tov/Shabbat and do not bring to the Synagogue any writing/coloring materials for your children or toys and games that require batteries or electricity. All cell phones and pagers must be turned off. Additionally, food and beverages should not be brought into the sanctuary.

Parking at CBI: Please use caution when entering and exiting the parking lot. There will be noparking on the driveway with the exception of the marked handicapped parking spaces adjacent to the ramp on the side of the building. The paved parking area will fill up early, but there is sufficient parking space in the grass beyond the pavement and behind the synagogue. No parking is allowed on Main Street.

Transportation to services can be arranged if needed. Call the Synagogue office at 978-474-0540.

Directions to Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) (formerly CTI) at 501 South Main Street, Andover.

From I-495, take exit 40A, I-93 South.

Go 5.7 miles to exit 41, Rt. 125.

At end of ramp, turn left to go North on Rt. 125.

Go 2.5 miles to Rt. 28, Main Street, North (exit ramp on right after underpass).

Go 0.4 miles. CBI is on the left.

Directions to Andover Country Club at 60 Canterbury Street, Andover.

From I-495,,ttake exit 41A, Rt. 28 South towards Andover.

Go 0.4 miles to the first light and turn right on Rt. 133, Lowell Street.

Go 0.3 miles and turn right onto Canterbury Street.

Go 0.4 miles to Andover Country Club at 60 Canterbury.

From Andover center, take Rt. 28 (Main Street) North to Rt. 133, Lowell Street. Turn left and follow above directions.

Cemetery Observances

Spiritual leadership will be available at our cemeteries in Lawrence and Chelmsford on the following
Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm:

in Lawrence: August 29, September 5, and September 12;
in Chelmsford: September 5 and September 12.
