13 / What is your primary reason for volunteering?
The Volunteer recognizes that:
1. The animal is the property of Cat Rescue Network and it can be reclaimed at any time. Therefore, the animal cannot be treated medically, removed from the premises or given to anyone without permission from Cat Rescue Network coordinator.
2. The volunteer is responsible for the care and wellbeing of any animal while it is in his/her care.
3. The volunteer or Cat Rescue Network may terminate this contract at any time.
4. Cat Rescue Network is not responsible for damages or injuries caused by the animal to any volunteer or their immediate family while in the care of the foster parent(s).

5. When supervising, caring for or transporting animals the volunteer agrees to:
1. Provide the animal with a safe physical environment (comfortable with room to stretch and free of danger from other people, animals or toxins);
2. Provide the animal with water, food, litter and physical care;
3. Isolate the animal from other animals if they do not already share a home;
4. Notify Cat Rescue Network contact immediately if the animal appears ill. If the volunteer contacts a veterinarian without the prior agreement of
Cat Rescue Network, the volunteer is responsible for all of the expenses incurred.
5. Return the animal to Cat Rescue Network if for any reason the volunteer cannot supervise the animal. The responsibility for the animal cannot be handed over to another volunteer without prior consent from Cat Rescue Network. Cat Rescue Network may remove the cat from the volunteer at any time.
6. The volunteer cannot speak for or enter into any agreement on behalf of Cat Rescue Network without prior consent from the Coordinator of the network.
7. When representing the network the volunteer must be cordial, obey all laws, and must not be under the influence of any non-prescription drugs or alcohol.
8. Make Cat Rescue Coordinator aware of any concerns you may have about the condition or treatment of the cat.
Cat Rescue Network undertakes to:
1. Accommodate the volunteer as much as possible regarding the experience the volunteer hopes to acquire (school credit, recommendation, experience with animals, opportunity to work directly with animals or the public and networking, etc.).
2. Inform the volunteer of any diseases and the level of contagion of any animal in his/her care.
3. Respond to the volunteer’s concerns in a timely fashion.

Volunteer Waiver

I, (printed name), agree to waive and forever hold harmless and indemnify Cat Rescue Network ("CRN") from any and all claims or suits for damages, destruction, injury, veterinary or medical expenses or death caused to any other animal, persons or property, howsoever caused, by any ("CRN Pet") fostered, transported, or encountered by me under the auspices of my volunteer work for CRN.
I further indemnify and hold CRN harmless from any suits or claims arising out of my volunteer work for CRN under any and all conditions and do not hold CRN responsible for any damages, injuries to myself, any property, other persons or other animals or veterinary or medical expenses caused as a result of any action by any CRN Pet, howsoever caused, whether or not that CRN Pet was under my direct or indirect control and responsibility.
Cat Rescue Network is a member of the Pet Rescue Association Helping Homeless Pets ("HHP") and I further agree to hold HHP harmless under the same circumstances as above.
I further agree to notify CRN immediately of any aggressive, anti-social or otherwise negative behaviour exhibited by any CRN Pet over which I have direct or indirect control and responsibility. Further, I agree to notify CRN immediately of any medical conditions that may become apparent or develop by any CRN Pet over which I have direct or indirect control and responsibility. CRN agrees to give due consideration to any advice, suggestions or opinions that I, as foster, may have with regard to dealing with the negative behaviour. I agree to follow CRN's advice and direction concerning the manner in which the negative behaviour should be dealt with including, but not limited to, removal to a different foster home or euthanasia.
All CRN Pets under my control and for which I have accepted temporary responsibility will remain properly and appropriately contained at all times all times. Whether indoors, in a securely fenced area, on leash, in a carrier or other means and will not be permitted to roam freely out of doors under any circumstances.
All CRN Pets under my control and for which I have accepted temporary responsibility will not knowingly be exposed to threatening or dangerous situations and, if such a situation presents itself, all CRN Pets will immediately be removed from such a situation including being removed from that foster home. I understand that CRN has insurance that protects me should any animal for which I haveaccepted temporary responsibility injures a member of the public. I agree to accept responsibility for the deductibleamount on the insuranceif any action is taken against me or CRN for an animal in my temporary care.
** I will not use any training aids or training method that causes, or has the potential to cause, pain, injury or discomfort to any foster pet within my care. Examples include, but are not limited to, pinch collars, choke chains, shock collars, etc. I will not hit, kick or otherwise use negative actions to correct the behavior of any foster pet within my care. If I am unsure if a training aid or method is appropriate, I will contact CRN for review and will abide by their decision on the matter.
I understand that CRN is the lawful and legal owner of the pet(s) and may, at any time, remove the pet(s) from my care should CRN deem it necessary.
