Cat® Certified Used – affordable alternative with an industry-leading warranty
Last year thousands of second-hand Caterpillar® machines changed owners through the Cat Certified Used program, a program that guarantees a high quality premium product for an affordable price.
The warranty is what differentiates Cat Certified Used from other used construction machines on the market. Buyers can choose between a basic warranty covering hydraulics, powertrain, parts and labor, and a total coverage warranty including the entire machine. In fact, this is the same as the warranty for new machinery. The warranty length is 6 – 12 months.
Each Cat Certified Used machines goes through a rigorous inspection and refurbishment process. That is up to 140 points, from bumper to bumper. The service, performed by the local Caterpillar dealer, uses original Cat parts only. “Cat Certified Used are young, low hour machines. The rigorous inspection and refurbishment process gives Cat and our dealers absolute confidence that these machines are work-ready. That’s why we stand behind such a strong warranty with confidence” explains Emmanuel Feront, the Used Equipment Manager at Caterpillar.
During the challenging economic times of today, buyers are naturally cost conscious. Cat Certified Used, benefitting from the same financing options as the new Cat equipment, has become a real option for budget conscious customers. This comes as no surprise as “Cat Certified Used machines are positioned on the market as low hour Cat machines backed by a new machine warranty, and the dealers after sales service,” Emmanuel Feront adds.
