1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.7.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

** NOTE TO SPECIFIER ** Upon exposure to moisture, cast iron warning plates form a temporary iron oxide scale, which is a normal part of the oxidation process. Following this, the warning plates darken to a patina, which is permanent throughout the life of the installation. Look at manhole covers in the street to see how the color matures. Delete if not required.

2.2.11 Vent Holes: Release gasses and air for maximum concrete contact.

2.2.12 Platform Edges:

2.2.12.1 Standards Compliance: ADAAG 2.29.2 and ADA 705.2.

2.2.12.2 Detectable warning surfaces at platform boarding edges to have a depth of 24 in (607 mm) and extend full length of the public use areas of the platform.

2.2.13 Lifting Brackets: Included for simplifying installation.

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Examine substrates for compliance with requirements for installation. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

3.1.2 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared and necessary building services are installed.

3.1.3 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Clean and prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Install warning plates in accordance with manufacture's written instructions and approved submittals.

3.3.1.1 Comply with installation requirements in Section 32 13 13.17 - Roller-Compacted Concrete Paving.

3.3.1.2 Completely seat warning plates in wet concrete by tamping or vibrating. Ensure full contact with concrete.

3.3.1.3 Surface of warning plate to be flush with surrounding concrete. Variation from flush not to exceed plus or minus 1/8 inch (3 mm).

3.3.1.4 Clean tiles using methods recommended in writing by manufacturer.

3.4 PROTECTION

3.4.1 Protect installed products until completion of project.

3.4.2 Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
