PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT POLICY
VISION: The J. F. Kennedy H. S. educational community will empower all members, set high expectations, promote mutual respect and develop responsible, productive, creative and critically thinking citizens.
MISSION: J. F. Kennedy H. S. provides a positive and inviting academic environment where all students are challenged to learn at their highest level and all students understand the importance of an education.
GOALS: The partnership between home and school will be supported by:
1. We will meet annually to review PIP (Parent Involvement Policy) for current school year
2. J. F. Kennedy H. S. PIP would provide flexible time for meeting in the morning or evening. Also provide services for childcare, transportation, and home visits, provided there are funds available.
3. Parents are provided with description and explanation of curriculum, academic assessment used to measure student progress.
4. Parents will have the opportunity to have conference to formulate suggestions and participate in the decision making of their child’s academics. Thru phone calls, district email or TX Connect.
5. Families are encouraged to join PTSA, PFAC or any other school organizations (Booster Club)
6. Parents have the opportunity to join CPOC. Formally and informally to comment on school policies and to share in the decision making.
7. The school’s PIP is available online, on displayed or can be made available upon request
8. The Parent Liaison will reach out and communicate with parents as an equal partner to implement and coordinate the parent program; building ties between the parents, school and faculty.
9. All information will be available in a format and language that parents can understand.
10. STAAR information is available and explained by the testing coordinator. Support is provided to parents to help and improve all academic achievement.
