Basic INFO

BMW has certainly thought outside the box designing thei3and the result is a desirable city car that’s a little bit special. The all-electric i3 handles well around town and is packed full of technology, all in a boldly styled, almost futuristic package. However, all this comes at a price with the i3 starting at £25,980 (including plug-in-car grant).

The lack of a fifth seat in the rear might put some people off and while the carriage doors look good, they’re somewhat impractical for day-to-day use. That said, if you’re looking for something a little bit different and futuristic, packed full of technology and from a well-known manufacturer the i3 could be for you.

While the performance is impressive, the inevitable drawback of exotic materials is the price. Breitfeld says the i3 will "cost less than you think" – rumour has it that it could be about £35,000 in the UK.

Diferent tax and insurance policy for electric car

The all-electric BMW i3 is the world’s first series-production model to be designed for sustainability at every stage, from the development of the car to its production and everyday use. As an all-electric car, it generates zero emissions and no odours at the point of use – which makes it the perfect companion around town.
But the BMW i3 is not just a green car. With its agility and acceleration – it takes just 7.3 seconds to sprint from 0-100 km/h – first and foremost it delivers exceptional driving pleasure. To move off from a standstill, just dip the accelerator gently and the BMW i3 will accelerate powerfully and almost silently.

A variety of innovative driver assistance systems in the BMW i3 not only makes driving a pleasure but also ensures worry-free parking. With the Driving Assistant Plus package, the BMW i3 will warn you about collisions and is able to automatically maintain speed and distance in city traffic and traffic jams. In motorway tailbacks, the traffic jam assistant even partially takes over steering duties. The Parking assistant makes child's play of parking – fully autonomously, if desired.

Most people drive far less than they think: on average we travel between 35 and 50 km per day by car. The BMW i3 is now available in two model options: the established BMW i3 (60 Ah) with a NEDC range of up to 190 km (New European Driving Cycle).Social
