2016Festival INFORMATION & GUIDELINES
The Festival will be held on Monday, June 20th 2016 at the Fields Pianos, Santa Ana
There will be five (5) levels of competition for 2015-2016 school year students:
I Elementary School Grades 1-3 4 minutes
II Intermediate School Grades 4-6 5 minutes
III Late Intermediate School Grades 7-9 6 minutes
IV Advanced School Grades 10-12 9 minutes
V Collegiate College Students 10 minutes
The categories may be changed, if number of participating students for a particular category will not be sufficient to keep it separate.
Two (2) pieces are required to be performed from memory by each student participating. All pieces
performed must be submitted using ORIGINAL SCORE(NO to photocopies and NO arrangements!)
1. First piece: any one movement of CLASSICAL period Sonata/Sonatina
2. Second piece may be any original piece from Baroque, Romantic or 20th & 21st Century.
Application fees (Teachers: Please make one check for all your students payable to CAPMT DISTRICT 8). $10 late fee will be applied if applications are not received by required deadline.

Applications should be neatly PRINTED.

There is a limit of 8 students per member of the CAPMT District 8. Each applicant must be studying with a teacher who is currently a member of CAPMT District 8. He/She must have been a bona fide student with the said teacher for the last 6 months.
Trophies & Medals will be awarded after each program. Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th place, as well as 2 Honorable Mentions. Written evaluations will be mailed to teachers. Decisions made by the judges are final. If there are any changes, teachers will be notified.
