OVERVIEW OF SUBCOMMITTEES

EXECUTIVE SUBCOMMITTEE

The Executive Subcommittee reviews the overall policies of the school and makes their recommendations to the full school committee. The Executive Subcommittee will bevoted on at the June 2012school committee meeting during the organizational meeting. /

FINANCE SUBCOMMITTEE

The Finance Subcommittee meets to develop the overall budget of the district and reviews financial statements and expenses throughout the year. They hold a consortium meeting every February to present a preliminary budget to the sending towns. The final budget must be approved by the full committee.

FACILITIES SUBCOMMITTEE

The Facilities Subcommittee reviews the maintenance of the building and fields as well as any renovations and/or alterations to take place to the building and fields and any long range planning for the physical plant. After they complete their research they bring their recommendations to the full school committee. /

EQUIPMENT SUBCOMMITTEE

The Equipment Subcommittee reviews requests and recommendations from Advisory Committees for equipment for the different areas of the school and brings their recommendations to the full school committee.

CURRICULUM SUBCOMMITTEE

The Curriculum Subcommittee reviews the Academic and Vocational Curricula as well as reports from many of the various programs of the school. They review requests for out-of-state field trips and oversee implementation of the different curricula. They report their findings to the full school committee and make recommendations for final approval. / SAFETY & SECURITY SUBCOMMITTEE
The Safety & Security Subcommittee reviews the overall safety and evacuation plans of the school and is the liaison between Cape Cod Tech and the Harwich Fire and Police Departments with regard to safety and security issues.

PAYROLL SUBCOMMITEE

Every member of the School Committee is a member of the Payroll Subcommittee. Before the payroll checks can be released, three (3) members must sign their approval. /

NEGOTIATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE

The Negotiations Subcommittee negotiates collective bargaining agreements and updates the committee on all aspects of the negotiation process. Final contract negotiations must be approved by the full committee. The current contract period is 2013-2016.

WELCOME SUBCOMMITEE

Members of the Welcome Subcommittee extend an invitation to newly appointed members to discuss an overview of the school committee and district, offer a tour of the building and ensure documents are available from the Superintendent’s Office so that new members feel oriented and welcomed.
