MOVE-OUT CLEANING CHECK LIST

The following checklist is provided to aid you in your cleaning so that you will be eligible to receive the full amount of your security deposit. Upon move out, the following must be completed.

  • Clean ceiling fans and all light fixtures
  • Dust all baseboards, doors, and window sills/wipe down dirty trim
  • Replace burned out light bulbs with correct size/style bulbs (i.e.-vanity bulbs in bathroom)
  • Change batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and any remotes
  • Wipe down the front door-inside and outside
  • Clean windows inside
  • Clean refrigerator and freezer (including under drawers),leave plugged in and turned on
  • Clean the stove, including the burners, stove pans, and underneath the pans

(you may need to replace stove pans if they won’t come clean)

  • Clean the oven, racks, and the oven drawer on the bottom
  • Clean the stove hood, filter and vent
  • Clean under and/or behind appliances if accessible
  • Wipe off the kitchen cabinets
  • Wipe out all kitchen drawers and cabinets
  • Sweep and mop all non-carpeted floors.
  • Wipe out medicine cabinet and all vanity tops
  • Clean the mirrors with Windex
  • Clean and disinfect the bathroom, including the tiles, tub, walls, vent fan and toilet (please do not leave any blue colored tablets in tank)
  • Mop bathroom floor
  • Clean air conditioner vent covers and replace AC filter(s)
  • DO NOT remove nails from the walls
  • Sweep the porches and patios
  • Clean carpets professionally, we recommend Cee Squared: 772-0011 (tenant must vacuum the carpet before this service is performed)
  • Throw away all trash, including empty bottles, hangers, etc.
  • All household trash and items not placed in roll cart must be removed from the property upon vacating the unit. Any garbage left behind will be removed and taken to the landfill at tenant’s cost.
  • Yard maintenance must be completed.
  • Report any needed repairs in the residence

Please let the office know what day you are having the utilities turned off. Turn in your keys to the office and leave us your forwarding addresswhen you are through moving out. Inspections and walk troughs will be done Mon – Fri 9:00 to 5:00 after all keys have been returned.

The unit is considered occupied and rent continues until all keys have been turned in to our office.
