Whatisthe Hunter’sTrek??

TheHunter’sTrekisunique.UponsuccessfulcompletionoftheHunter’sTrek,aRoyal RRaangerwillreceivetheprestigious“FrontiersmanAward.” OnlyalimitednumberofRoyal Rangerswillmeetthe required qualificationstoearnthisaward. TheHunter’sTrekis designedtobechallenging,anditisnotexpectedthateveryRoyalRangerwillsuccessfully pass duringhis firstattempt.

Thecandidatemustsurvivea24hourwildernessadventureduringMaineYukonDay. His adventurewill beginat9:00amSaturdaymorningandendat9:00amSundaymorning. Duringthisperiodoftime,hemustconstructanaturalshelterandspendthenightinit. He willbegivenaseriesoftaskswhichmuchbe completedwithinthe24hourperiod. Only candidateswithstrongRangerskills,especiallywintersurvival,firecraft,campcookingand marksmanshipwill havea chancetosuccessfullycompletethisTrek. Thespecifictasks which must be completed willbegiven to himonSaturdaymorning.

He will have to shoot his smoke pole accurately and use his compass to acquire his vittles. A proper knowledge of snares will enhance his catch.
