The University of Missouri is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from harassment. In Keeping with that commitment, employees are required to complete a mandatory online training course, Harassment: What It Is and How to Stop It, within 30 days of employment.

You will also be reimbursed for your actual allowable moving expense receipts up to 10% of your annual salary, not to exceed $<10% of salary>. You are expected to attend the UMKC New Faculty Orientation to be held in mid-August <or date> and will receive an invitation under separate cover from the Provost Office. Upon your acceptance of this offer, UMKC Human Resources will send you a request for documentation necessary to establish your UMKC ID card, email account, Library and Blackboard access; please respond quickly with the necessary forms and supporting documentation to avoid access delays. You will also receive detailed information regarding payment and benefits options, and a schedule of Pre-Employment sessions held in mid-August <dates>. It is essential that you attend one of these sessions to complete the employment process.

The University requires that we maintain an official copy of your higher education transcripts. If you have not already done so, please have an official copy of that transcript sent to the Office of the Dean, Attention: <Name and Mailing Address>. You must hold the required Ph.D. or terminal degree prior to the appointment effective date. Your appointment is contingent upon verification of your degrees.

  If this is your first time working for the University, if you are being rehired and were non-vested, or if you were vested and took a distribution of your benefit, you will receive information from Fidelity in the coming weeks regarding automatic enrollment in your core retirement plan – the Employee Retirement Investment Plan (ERIP). The ERIP contains both a defined contribution and defined benefit component. Both components feature automatic enrollment and have separate employee contributions. Watch for the information from Fidelity Investments regarding the defined contribution component, and review it carefully to learn more about the university’s contribution, your default contribution level and your investment options. Your contribution to the defined benefit portion of your core retirement plan will automatically be deducted from your paycheck.   If you are a rehired employee who vested in the Retirement, Disability and Death Plan (RDD) and did not take a distribution of your benefit, you will be reinstated in this plan as your core retirement plan. Employee contributions are required for the RDD Plan and will be automatically deducted from your paycheck.
