Candidate For Parents’ Club Vice President

Lori keeps busy with various volunteer activities at St. Thomas the Apostle (STA) where she and her husband, Rob, have been parishioners for 12 yearsand parents at the school for 9years. Theyhavefive children–Jake (6th grade), Ava (4thgrade),Luke (3rd grade), James (1st grade) and Clara (2 years old), who will begin nursery at the school in the Fall. Having children in various grades at St. Thomas is the reason why Lori believes she is a great candidate for the Vice President of the Parents’ Club.

For the parish, she has servedas an Eucharistic Ministersince 2007; servedon our Pastoral Councilfor 6 years from 2008-2014; chaired our Annual Dinner Dancefor 2009, 2010 and 2011; founded and coordinatedour MOST support group (Mothers of St. Thomas) from 2009-2012; served on our Parish Festivalcommittee as volunteer coordinator for 2009 & 2010; and started and continues to coordinateour Helping Hands cooking ministry since 2009.

Over the last 7 years, Lori has also assistedwith variousParish projects including parish publicity and our 80th anniversary Parish Family Album, as wellsitting on special committees such as our volunteer appreciation breakfast, parish ministry fair, our stewardship campaign, ourparish auction and our capital campaign project. For our school, Lori has servedin the leadership position as our School Board Secretary for 1 term from 2009-2011, and currently serves as the School Board Presidentfor the last 3 years, where she assisted our Principal with Marketing/Enrollment and our School Budget. It is her experience in leadership at the school and parish which has driven her decision to run for Vice President of the Parents’ Club.

Lori has been an active member of our school Parents’ Club since 2006 and understands the vital role fundraising has at our Catholic School. In the past, she has chaired our Kindergarten Mixer,Ladies Night andLord & Taylor fundraiser. This year,she has coordinated several special lunch days including Taco Day and Hero Day, and she chairsone of our major Parents’ Club fundraisers, the Father/Daughter Dance for the last 5 years.Lori has also been very involved over the last 6 years in coordinating our annual Catholic Schools Week open house, assisting with school publicity and also started our 1st Annual Alumni Massthis past January.

Serving as a Marketing/PR Specialist, Spokesperson & Event Planner at the American Cancer Society, Lori thendecided to make a career change by becoming a certified NYS teacher. She understands Marketing & PR and how schools work. Lori’s volunteer commitment, education and professional background make her a great candidate for Parents’ Club Vice President.
