Nigel Henderson, Chief Executive, Penumbra
Nigel has worked in the voluntary sector since 1985, having previously worked in the NHS. For the last 18 years he has worked with Penumbra and was appointed Chief Executive in 1999. Nigel has a wide range of experience in the mental health and social care fields, with knowledge and experience of delivering, negotiating, developing and managing services and has represented CCPS at parliamentary committees and a number of cross sector working groups, etc. Nigel has been a committee member of CCPS for a number of years and has been Convener for the last two years. He is a member of the management committees of ‘see me’ and the Scottish Recovery Network and is a non-executive Board member of both the Mental Welfare Commission and the Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland (LTCAS).
John Grant, Deputy Chief Executive, Cornerstone
John has worked across a wide range of social care services for the past 30 years. This has included work in the statutory and voluntary sectors, within urban, rural and island communities. He has considerable operational and management experience in child care and community care. He is a registered SSSC social worker with an MBA and is also an NLP practitioner. As Deputy Chief Executive for Cornerstone, he is responsible for all operational activities. With an annual turnover of £30M, 1500 employees and a range of community care and support services across 17 local authority areas, Cornerstone is one of the largest providers of care services in Scotland. John has been on the CCPS Board since October 2007 and CCPS Treasurer for the past two years and his particular spheres of interest are contractual and tendering issues and the development of self directed support services.

Martin Crewe, Director, Barnardo’sScotland
Martin has been Director of Barnardo’sScotland since March 2007 and has worked in the voluntary sector for over 25 years. Prior to Barnardo’s he worked as a Regional Manager with NSPCC and shorter spells with the NHS, a trade union and a small youth counselling charity. Martin has served on the Boards of several voluntary organisations including the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) and Stevenson College Edinburgh. He was also a 'business excellence' assessor with Quality Scotland for five years. Martin was a key member of the Scottish Government / COSLA group that developed the Early Years Framework for Scotland and chairs the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) Programme Board on behalf of the Scottish Government. Martin initially trained as a scientist and completed a PhD in Geochemistry, including work on the first detailed geological map of Greenland. He gained an MBA in 1993 and an MSc in Social Services Management in 2006.
Charlie Dickson, Director of Care Services, Bield Housing Association
Charlie has worked in the care sector since 1980. He originally trained as a psychiatric nurse then moved to the social care sector in the early 1990’s, working with the Archdiocese of Glasgow, latterly the Mungo Foundation, managing services for numerous client groups. In 2005 he moved to Bield Housing Association, where today as Director of Care Services, he manages all Bield’s care provision for older people, ranging from care homes to day care to home care services. He is passionate about the provision of high quality care for older people.
Bobby Duffy, Director of Operations, SAMH
Bobby has worked in the mental health field for 26 years and has an excellent understanding of the Voluntary Sector and the Policy Framework, which drives the development of community based health and social care services. Bobby has worked with SAMH for 18 years in a range of management positions and previously worked in NHS for nine years in a range of mental health nursing positions. Nowresponsible fordirect service provision mainly within the West of Scotland, as well as development of policy and campaigns, he is the lead for business development within SAMH
Rob Hughes, Head of Operations, Inspire
Rob has worked in all areas of social care over the last 35 years, from homeless shelters and children's homes and services, to older people services but in particular mental health and learning disability services with the local authority. He trained as a social worker in 1978 and has since, lived in and managed social services in the North East. However in a final attempt to "make a difference" he became Head of Operations at Inspire, Partnership Through Life, in March this year. Inspire provides services for over 600 people mostly adults with learning disabilities. He is passionate about real inclusion and engagement for the people he works for.
Lorraine McGrath, Assistant Director, Places for People Care and Support
Lorraine has been a senior social care manager with a focus on strategic development for more than eight years, having worked in the sector for 20 years. She has a thorough knowledge and understanding of voluntary sector governance, local authority commissioning and significant involvement in national strategy development with the Scottish Government Health Directorate.
Angela Morgan, Chief Executive, Includem
Angela has 20 years’ experience in senior management positions in third sector social care delivery bodies in Scotland, having worked on the pioneering community care projects in London in the1980s. She was Depute CE of SAMH until 2002 and then Director of Families Outside which works on behalf of families affected by imprisonment.Since 2007, she has been Chief Executive of Includem which is a specialist Scottish organisation focused on the most difficult to engage children and young people. Angela has significant experience in representing care and sector issues in government policy and strategy development currently with a particular interest in youth/adult justice and children & families, for example the Governments review of Secure Care places in Scotland and the implementation of legislation for 16/17 year olds with offending behaviour.
Angela has been a Board member of CCPS since October 2008.
Dana O’Dwyer, The Mungo Foundation
Dana has a wealth of strategic management and operational experience in all aspects of community care commissioning, policy and practice from her career in the voluntary sector, NHS and local government. She has been Chief Executive of The Mungo Foundation, a large social care provider in the West of Scotland since 2005. Other posts have included working for Greater Glasgow NHS Board as an Assistant Director of Planning and Community Care; Glasgow City Housing Special Needs Section; Strathclyde Regional Council; and a homeless charity. Dana has strived throughout her working life to improve service provision for marginalised or excluded groups. She has been a CCPS Board Member since 2006 and is committed to working in partnership with other care and support providers, particularly during these challenging economic times. Dana will be leaving The Mungo Foundation on 7 November to take up a new post as Chief Executive of Capability Scotland.
