2.  Rules and Regulations

The 2016 Canadian International Trapshooting Championships will be conducted according to the ISSF Rules and Regulations, Edition (2013 Edition 3rd print 01/2015). Detailed information is available on the ISSF website at www.issf-sports.org.

The Jury reserves the right to make exceptions to the Rules as and when necessary. All changes will be announced in writing and posted at the range clubhouse.

The Chief Range Officer (Equipment Control, Classification and Appeals) are designated by the Shotgun Section to supervise the 2016 Canadian International Trapshooting Championships, and major officials will hold a valid ISSF Shotgun A or B level referee or judge license.

The Chief Range Officer will coordinate with the match director to select an appropriate number of jury members. Selected jury members should be familiar with the ISSF shooting rules and be an experienced athlete, official and/or competition staff.

The Chief Range Officer will also verify with the match staff that the targets and computers used for the competition are in working order and that the targets are set according to the ISSF Rules and Regulations.

All shooters are expected to serve as sideline referees. If scheduled for the next round, there will be at least a 20 minute break between flanking and shooting. If an athlete fails to act as a sideline referee when he/she is required to do so, they shall be penalized as per the ISSF Rules.

An up-to-date program schedule (with changes to time or added information) will be posted in the clubhouse and posted to the following web site: http://winnipegtrapandskeet.com prior to the match.

Equipment control, if conducted, will be conducted according to the ISSF Rules and Regulation (9.4.1) using approved instruments.

Targets: The shooting range for Trap/Double Trap is equipped with International orange targets (Lawry/White Flyer) for qualification and finals.

Protests: Warnings/penalties will be given according to the current ISSF Official Statutes, Rules and Regulations. Protest forms will be available in the entry office.

Protests will be handled by the Jury. Cost is $50.00 each. The Jury’s decisions are final.

Non-medical use of drugs, or the consumption of alcohol is not permitted anywhere on range property. Random doping tests for any competitor are possible at any time. Please see the SFC website for the SFC Policy on Doping in Sport.

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) may conduct anti-doping testing and controls at these Championships. Participation in this competition constitutes a willingness to undergo testing if selected. (Reference I.S.S.F. Anti-Doping Rules item 5.6.5)

3.  2017 High Performance Selection Criteria

To be eligible for the 2017 National Team and High Performance Program you must attend the High Performance Team Trials which will be held at the 2016 Canadian International Trapshooting Championships.

*Squadding shall be done by observed random draw by the selected Jury Members for all events.

5.  Finals

Semi-final and medal match in Trap and Double Trap will be shot according to Edition 2013 (Third print 01/2015) of the ISSF Rules and Regulations format, with the following exception:

Exception: Scores from the qualification rounds will be added to the scores in the semi-final round to determine which athletes will compete in the medal round.

The top 6 Canadian shooters in all Trap and Double Trap events (including juniors) will be invited to participate in the semi-final and medal matches.

Only Canadian citizens will be eligible for the semi-final and medal matches.

The top 2 shooters from the semi-finals will advance to the gold medal match in each event. The third- and fourth-place athletes from the semi-finals will advance to the bronze medal match in each event.

Scores in the medal round will start at zero (0). No previous scores will carry over to the medal round.

The National Champion in each ISSF event will be determined by the results of the Gold Medal Match (final).

A junior may not be excluded from a final in any event from which he/she has qualified.

6.  Awards

Only one (1) trophy per event can be awarded. In a situation where an athlete qualifies for more than one (1) award, the highest placing will be awarded to the athlete.

For example: A junior who places runner-up in a junior event may not receive this award if they win the senior final.

All awards will be presented by CIT after the competition has concluded.

7.  Entry Process

You are encouraged to use the on-line registration process available at the SFC website.

Each event will be conducted using two (2) bunkers.

Registration will be limited to a maximum of sixty (60) competitors for all Single Trap events,

and sixty (60) competitors for all Double Trap events.

Please confirm your attendance with David Mosscrop no later than July 4, 2016.

Priority and preference shall be given to those athletes who competed in the 2015 Canadian International Trapshooting Championships and/or are Canadian citizens.

Registration will be in the clubhouse, on the days and at the times noted in the Schedule of Events (Appendix B).

Please register on the days set aside for this purpose.

Membership

All competitors must be 2016 members of the Shooting Federation of Canada. Membership will be verified by the SFC National Office prior to the match.

Every participant must be able to provide proof of membership at registration.

SFC membership is not required of Americans with current 2016 USA Shooting memberships.

Note: Those who are not Canadian citizens

must show proof of Canadian-covered insurance,

or purchase an SFC membership with insurance included.

Juniors in ISSF events will not have reached their 21st birthday prior to December 31, 2016.

8.  Shooting range

The 2016 Canadian International Trapshooting Championships will take place in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The average temperature in Winnipeg in July is 25.5 degrees C. Thunderstorms do occur in this area at this time of year.

11.  Additional Information

The Annual Meeting for the CIT Shotgun subsection will be held during the match. An announcement will be made at a later date.
