MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the meeting held on 10th November were accepted.

MATTERS ARISING

The question of a joint venue for both the ‘Little Gransden’ and ‘Cambridge Gliding Club’ consultative meetings was raised. Although not part of the formal agenda this subject had been discussed in the past but no apparent action taken. It was agreed that the Chairman would check on the validity of having a joint venue for the two separate meetings and raise this at the next appropriate occasion. The Chairman offered to host these at the club, which would avoid the cost of hiring a suitable hall.

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

John Glossop gave the report on behalf of the Gliding Club.

John also informed the committee that, as previously reported (10 November 2004 Consultative Meeting), the club had achieved less aerotow launches during the last year.

COMPLAINTS RECEIVED SINCE THE LAST MEETING

Alan Denison reported that the club had received no complaints since the last Consultative Meeting.

Margaret Harrison informed the meeting that she had received two complaints regarding tugs over-flying Caxton; both had been on the same day.

Lister Wilson reported that he had also received one complaint of a similar nature.

Alan Denison apologised, on behalf of the club, for these infringements. He emphasised that anyone with a complaint should be encouraged to contact the club office as soon as possible so that, if possible, action could be taken without undue delay.

THE GRANSDEN REGIONAL’S COMPETITION 2005

It was re-affirmed that the Gransden Regional’s competition would take place between 20th and 28th of August. Entry Forms were already being received indicating that the total number of competitors would be around the usual 60 mark.

Lister Wilson advised the meeting that road works at Caxton could possibly cause problems during the Regionals.

Paul Sexton requested that the necessary Planning Permission for this event was submitted as soon as possible.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

There was no other business to discuss.

DATE FOR NEXT MEETING

It was agreed that the next meeting should takes place at the Cambridge Gliding Club on Wednesday 9th November 2005 at 7.30pm.
