·  CALL TO ORDER: Melinda Eck and Lynne Lombardo 7:02 pm

·  PRINCIPAL’S REPORT: Mary Pat Long

1.  Dr. Seuss Day and Read Across America. Teachers were doing commercials for their favorite books. On 3/2 kids could pick 3 rooms they wanted to go to in AM based on the commercials. Afternoon assembly (guy who writes songs about books)

2.  RIF focus this time is diving into a different genre

3.  Kindergarten registration no immediate plans to move to full day kindergarten in district

4.  Help needed-items out there for newly enrolling kindergarten families. Pre Kindergarten readiness screening will be offered in all schools not just Limerick and Spring City. Classes offered for those on the lower end and will be held at Brooke this summer

5.  No requests will be honored for AM or PM kindergarten session

6.  Pro Social spirit sticks seem to still be going strong. Teachers are really trying to make it a big deal if a student gets one (not to try and be super selective)

7.  Birthday Spirit sticks really taking off

8.  Color me fun run this weekend-incentives during the week will be communicated throughout the week to students.

9.  25th Anniversary Wednesday May 18th: Mosaic is up. Will do an Evite shortly for the evening event. During the day mosaic dedication and possibly opening the time capsule. May also do game. Evening-small formal part. Miss Schodle may have a best of concert dvd playing. Music piped throughout building. May ask Parent help-memorabilia etc.

12.  Reading Olympics-County wide competition April 6th

13.  Olympic Day Friday 6/3

14.  Career Day: 3rd and 4th grade. Last count was 14-15 people coming in to speak

15.  Attendance reports will be coming out from Mrs. Long. Once hit 10 days have to send out district standard note to families. Each absence after that will require a doctor’s note which can cause challenges for parents. Three unexcused technically same thing.

·  Motion to pass meeting minutes from January meeting. Melinda and Lynne granted the motion.

Beautification: Assuming weather continues to cooperate spring flowers will be planted and placed in front of the school.

Book Fair: Pizza night will be 5/2. There will be 2 seatings.

Box Tops: March 1st submission was $361.90. We should receive our check in April or May. Highest submissions in order were:

Mr Laurie’s 3rd grade class

Mrs. Houtz’s 2nd grade class

Mrs. Young’s 2nd grade class

Keep on sending in the submissions as we plan to do one more round before the end of the school year. Please submit tops with an expiration date of 6/1/16 and beyond. If you will be submitting a large amount, we are requesting that you bundle them into sets of 50 and place them in individual zip-top bags.

Color Me Fun Run (CMFR): Meeting was held last Wednesday to go over details and pack some of the swag bags. There are currently 330 registered. Early pick up is tonite and shirts are being delivered to school Wednesday.

Family (Bingo) Night:

Fourth Grade Celebration: Work will begin on the slide show and signed t-shirt after Spring Break. The celebration will be held on Friday June 10th from 10-2 at Manderach park. Clearances will be needed.

Gift Card Sales: Still looking to coordinate this with Giant food stores. Details are still being finalized.

Olympic Day:

Restaurant Nights: Working on setting something up with Outback steakhouse. They no longer accommodate the type of event we had last year so waiting for details on what they now support.

School Store: Remaining dates for the year are 3/18,4/15,5/20.

Spirit Wear

Teacher/ Staff Appreciation: Mardi gras themed meal was provided in February. In March they will be purchasing small potted plants to give to the staff. For April, they will be providing a lunch to go along with the Teacher preview of the book fair. Food donations are being requested for the April event.

Yearbook: The yearbook is underway. The internal deadline for submission will be 3/31 due to a Lifetouch deadline of 4/11. Order forms are being sent home this week. Email pictures from any event to
