Abstract / The 802.21 WG request submissions of technical contributions to address the handover with broadcast technologies use case scenarios agreed by the 802.21b TG.
Purpose / Request for formal submissions to 802.21b of technology proposals.


CALL FOR TECHNICAL PROPOSALS:

The IEEE 802.21b Task Group invites advanced technology proposals drafted in accordance with the 802.21b PAR, fully or partially addressing the use cases defined in document 21-09-0041-04-bcst, and in accordance with the guidelines described in document 21-09-0112-01-bcst.

Scope of proposals:

-  Mechanisms to help reducing the latency during handovers between heterogeneous access networks that support IEEE 802.21 and Broadcast or Downlink Only (DO) technologies

-  Mechanisms to provide information about broadcast services to heterogeneous technologies with IEEE 802.21 MIH protocol exchanges

-  Media Independent and Link Dependent Service Access Points definitions

Proposals must be submitted to IEEE 802.21 Document Repository:

·  Document Title: TGb_Proposal_Firstname_Lastname (e.g.,TGb_Proposal_JuanCarlos_Zuniga)

Also, an email must be sent to the 802.21b TG Chair Juan Carlos Zuniga () and the 802.21 WG Chair Vivek Gupta () informing of the submission.

The submission deadline for the first round of proposals is: September 13th (Sun), 2009, end of day AOE (Anywhere On Earth). After the submission deadline, no new proposals or revision of existing proposals will be allowed until the end of the September meeting.

The submission deadline for the second round of proposals is: November 8th (Sun), 2009, end of day AOE (Anywhere On Earth). After the submission deadline, no new proposals will be allowed any more and new revision of proposals will only be allowed after the end of the November meeting.
