Art on the Wabash2009

4th annual local juried art fair

Eligibility – Open to any artist, age 18 or older, residing in the following Indianacounties: Benton, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Howard, Jasper, Montgomery, Newton, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Warren, and White. Work must be original work of the entrant and completed within last five (5) years. Art work must be of high quality and must be for sale.

Media and Limitation: Work may be of any media, but will be juried for quality. No crafts, kits, or production please. Non-fine craft items will not be accepted.

Submission: All work shouldbe submitted via digital images. Images should clearly show the detail of the piece and represent the artist’s body of work. Poor quality images will adversely affect selection.

Digital images must be in jpeg format. Recommended resolution is 300dpi; recommended size is 1024 x 768 pixels. The CD must be labeled with the artist’s name and sent with a sheet listing the title and medium of each image in the order they appear on the CD. Include a SASE if you want the CD returned to you.

  • Each artist may submit up to three digital images of work representative of each medium the artist wishes to exhibit at the fair.
  • One additional image of your booth set-up showing professionalism may be submitted.
  • One additional image of the artist at work may be submitted for marketing purposes (will not be used for jurying).

Entry Fee & Deadline: Entry fee is $15 per artist. Artists intending to exhibit as a group must still apply individually and each pay the $15 per person entry fee. Notification: Only work selected by the juror will be accepted for the fair. The jurying process shall take place the first week of June. Artists will be notified by email by June 12, 2009 as to whether they have or have not been accepted.

Agreement: Submission of a work of art shall be understood to indicate an agreement on the part of the entrant, with all conditions set forth, including permission for reproduction for marketing purposes.

About the Juror: Art on the Wabash is juried each year by a professional member of the art community. The juror is different each year and is not a member of the Art on the Wabash committee. Criteria include quality and originality. Artists may be juried into the fair in one medium but not in another.

What you’ll need to know if you’re accepted:

  • Booths are 10 x10 and cost $25 (you’ll be invoiced later)
  • You’ll need a tent, your display, tables and a chair
  • Tent rental is available for $25
  • You’ll want to bring a friend to help you set up and tear down
  • You’ll need to keep your booth in place for the day
  • Attendees enjoy meeting you and learning about your work
  • Details will follow if you’re accepted!
