Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. was established in 1975 at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. We pride ourselves on being the first and largest Latina-based sorority to ever be established in the nation. With over 120 chapters across the United States and Puerto Rico, our members strive daily to continue to pave the way through social justice, community service, academics, scholarships, philanthropy and sisterhood. Today, we celebrate not only 38 years as an established academic sisterhood, but also as an organization that remains passionate about helping students pursue higher education.

As Lambda Theta Alpha’s California South Area 2, we are proud to offer our third annual scholarship to an academically motivated undocumented student. We urge you to continue to challenge yourselves academically and continue to work hard to pursue your dreams of graduating from a higher education institution.

Please review the entire scholarship application to ensure you meet the criteria, and submit all supporting documents. Complete the application electronically and email it to as an attachment. Please scan a copy of your most recent unofficial transcript, displaying your cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) and attach it to the email in conjunction with the application.

  • Be an undocumented student (students with temporary student visa do not qualify for the scholarship)
  • Reside in California
  • Plan to enroll in any form of higher education institution in California (e.g. Trade School, Two-year College, Four-Year Universities, etc.)for Fall 2014
  • Cannot be a previous recipient of this scholarship
