2.  Unapproved Agenda/Additions-Deletions: Motion made by Karen Levine to approved agenda. Motion was 2nd by Reina Kkoll. Motion carried.

3.  Approval of January 21, 2014 Minutes: Motion made by Anabel Velazquez to approve the January 21, 2014 minutes. Motion was 2nd by Jo Leyva. Motion carried.

  1. Second reading to the constitution as follows:

Article II

Section 1

(d) Active Retired: Any person who was a member of the Chapter at the time of retirement and who also maintains a retired membership in good standing with the Association may continue as an Active member of this Chapter upon payment of the regular Chapter dues required of Active members the member at the time of their retirement. Such dues shall be paid annually in advance or monthly in advance direct to the Chapter Treasurer. Such members shall be entitled to continued full participation in Chapter affairs, including the right to hold appointive or elective offices and the right to vote, with the exception of the right to vote in contract ratification and concerted activities matters.

Should such member cease to be a retired member in good standing of the Association, his/her Chapter membership shall automatically terminate.

Article III

Section 2

Chapter Dues. Local Chapter dues for Active members of this Chapter shall be $30.00 $50.00 $30.00 per year, payable by payroll deduction during each of the months September August through June May in which the member is in regular paid status; or payable annually in advance to the Chapter Treasurer. No increase in Local Chapter dues shall be levied in this Chapter unless approved by three/fourths (3/4) of the Chapter membership present and voting on the question by secret ballot, provided that each member has been notified in writing at least ten (10) days in advance of the nature of the proposal and the time, date and place where the matter will be voted on.

Discussion was held. Results of secret ballot as follows:

6 yes votes / 9 no votes 6 abstain 3/4 vote needed to pass, failed.

  1. CSEA CAL PERS presentation Deb Jachens

Deb Jachens presented an overview or CAL PERS retirement and social security, followed by questions and answers.

10.  Members concerns:

a. Employees will get their retro checks on Friday, February 24, 2014.

a.  Angie Nunn reported on Cabinet meeting.
