Who Should Participate
All members of each County Local Mental Health Boards/Commissions are invited to attend. However, only one person per county will receive travel reimbursement. Carpooling is encouraged. To qualify for travel reimbursement, each Board or Commission must designate their representative who will be reimbursed for travel. Priority will be given to southern California regional members, but members from the other regions may be able to attend if space is available.

Training Description
Members of County Local Behavioral Health Boards and Commissions in the Southern Region are invited to attend a training sponsored by CIBHS, as well as meetings of the CA Mental Health Planning Council (CMHPC) and the California Association of Local Behavioral Health Boards and Commissions (CALBHBC) on Friday and Saturday, January 19-20, 2018 in San Diego. The overall objective of these events is to enhance the capacity of LBHBC members to perform their primary functions of reviewing and evaluating their county’s behavioral health programs and services, make recommendations on improvements needed, and increase statewide and regional access to education and training.
Local board/commission members are invited to attendone or both days. The CA Mental Health Planning Council (CAMHPC) General Session takes place on Friday morning, January 19. The CALBHB/C meeting begins on Friday afternoon with a meeting and speakers regarding mental/behavioral health issues and successes. Basic Behavioral Health Boards and Commissions and additional trainings will be offered on Saturday, January 20. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for one member per local mental/behavioral health board/commission in the region.
