Grief Following Trauma,Tues. and Wed.
In the course of one’s career, it is inevitable that professionals will encounter traumatic death and loss issues both personally and professionally. Professionals often feel ill prepared to provide effective care throughout the grief process. This course will cover key grief and loss concepts relating to trauma and traumatic death. Participants will increase their knowledge of how trauma impacts the grief process and will gain skills for evaluating and supporting persons who have experienced traumatic death and loss.
This course is designed for anyone who works with people who experience grief and loss following a traumatic event.

Chaplain Cameron Brown has worked for the Fort Worth Fire Department since 1983 to the present and has been a FFC Member since 1994. She has been an FFC Board member since 2000. She has been involved with the ICISF and the CISM program since 1985. She developed and facilitated the second-ever CISM team (Fort Worth Fire Department). She was involved in Delta 191 Crash, Hurricane Andrew, Miami, Dade County. Waco Branch Davidians Initial Assault and Post Fire Mass Fatality Incident; Texas Oil Refinery Explosion, The Oklahoma City Bombing, Brennan National Gas Explosion, and recently the Fort Worth Courthouse Shootings and the West Texas Fertilizer Plant Explosion. She is currently a Staff Care Chaplain at Cook Children’s Medical Center.
Instructor, Chaplain Cameron Brown has a BSSW in social work, M.Div; D.Min. and she is a Green Cross Academy of Traumatology Certified Compassion Fatigue Educator.
