PROPOSED AGENDA

  1. Call to order and welcome – Mayor Palmer
  1. Telecommunications Director Brad Carrick presented a power point presentation on an updated switch project. The City’s internal switch network is over 14 years old and need replacing. The old switches are becoming obsolete, and parts are no longer available. Mr. Carrick proposed replacing the switches.
  2. Mayor Palmer proceeded to read over the following agenda items.

  1. Amend or approve Proposed Agenda
  1. Amend or approve the minutes of March 26, 2012regular city council meeting. Amend or approve the minutes of the March 26, 2012 executive session.
  1. Mayor’s Comments:
  1. I would like to recognize and thank the Calhoun Home Depot for donating plants, materials, and the labor for renovating a landscape bed in front of Fire Station #3 on Curtis Parkway.
  1. Council Comments:
  1. Councilman Edwards - Police, Municipal Court and Probation, Fire, Zoning Advisory Board, Main Street Program, Downtown Development Authority, and Historic Preservation Commission
  2. Councilman Barton- Street, Sanitation, Cemetery, Animal Control, Safety

Committee, Recreation and Parks

  1. Councilman Crowley- Water and Sewer Operations, Water and Sewer Construction, Building Inspection, Revolving Loan, and Schools
  2. Councilman Hammond- Northwest Georgia Regional Commission, Electric Department, Telecommunications, and Airport
  1. Public Hearing and Comments:
  1. Announce at this time, public hearingson zoning matters will be held. The public will have the opportunity to make pro and con comments with a ten minute maximum time limit for each side of the matter, with each person speaking having filed a financial disclosure statement five days prior to the hearing if required, with each person giving their name and address. An inquiry should be made to determine if any elected official has filed a disclosure statement regarding ownership or special interest in any of the agenda items. Zoning Land Use Maps on display in Council Chambers for Zoning Advisory Board and Council hearings. (*Reminder- Annexation first and zoning as a second motion)

  3. Review of the 2012 updated zoning map
