C.A.P.S EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE BOARD MEETING

November 5, 2008

8:30 a.m.

Members Present: Vice President Alec Doucette, Treasurer Jesse Masciotro, Secretary Mary K. Shobe; Member-at-Large Brad Kamby

Treasurer’s Report: There is currently an account balance of $2384.74. Jesse has obtained a debit card for the account and can now transfer the monthly web site fee to the general account. Jesse had both Alec and Mary K. sign off on the checking account signature card, as security back-up. Mary K. and Jesse will continue to attempt contact with the president re: her signature on the account.

Topics discussed:

Fall Luncheon- Simms Landing (at 6th and Simms) will be the location of the 12/10/08 luncheon meeting. Jesse has put down the required $100 room deposit. Further discussion about the purpose and goals of the meeting were covered. The consensus focus of invitations will be on County pre-trial Supervisors who may invite up to 2 line staff of their choice to attend with them. The ten major Counties (CISPR) chosen for this focus are: Denver, Jefferson, Adams/Broomfield, Arapahoe, Boulder, Larimer, Weld, Mesa, El Paso and Douglas. The Counties have been split up amongst the various Board members to contact and invite. We will ask for RSVP's by no later than 11/21/08 and will inform Jesse of attendee numbers.

Suggest 2009 goals- 1) A recommitment to maintain regular contact with the various Counties regarding meeting times and locations, etc. 2) Consider sending a CAPS Board member to NAPSA on a scholarship if increased membership dues can accommodate it; that way there will be a CAPS liaison to NAPSA. 3) Focus on supervisory membership, CAPS participation and input. 4) Look into the formulation of a CAPS Standards/Best practices document.

Miscellaneous- Mary K. will contact Nancy Jones to check on her status now that she is at ACDF again.

Closing discussion: It was agreed that we would contact each other if we encounter problems or have questions prior to the luncheon meeting.
