Floor Plans
Floor plans shall include the following information:
·  Location and identity of fire fighting equipment (including extinguishers).
·  Assembly area(s).
·  Datum points (‘You are here’ ì indication).
·  All exits.
·  North and west heading.
Evacuation Alarm
In the event of an emergency a horn shall be used to alert personnel. This horn shall be kept in the site office or site box.
Portable Fire Extinguishers
Portable fire extinguishers, designed to be used on small fires only (eg: size of small waste paper bin) are provided. Locations shall be marked on floor plans.
Assembly Area
The assembly area shall be marked on the floor plan.
Whereabouts Lists / Daily Site Registration
Site management will maintain a whereabouts list every day, indicating number of people working. The list is to be located in the site office.
Visitors
Site management and staff shall be aware of visitors to their work area and in the event of an alarm, ensure visitors are evacuated to the assembly area, assist where needed. / Response to Fire (WHEN SAFE TO DO SO)
1.  Provide assistance to any person in immediate danger.
2.  Attempt to extinguish fire.
3.  Call the Fire Brigade / Ambulance as required
4.  Close doors to restrict smoke spread.
5.  Notify Site Manager.
6.  Commence evacuation of zone.
Fire Warden (if none nominated, Site Manager or Foreman)
7.  Evacuate all staff and visitors from zone.
8.  Take Site Registration Diary with you.
9.  Assemble all staff, visitors at assembly area.
10.  Conduct a roll call and record names only when person sighted.
11.  Report to Project Manager and Authorities
Other Emergency
(eg bomb threat, power blackout, civil disturbance, engulfment)
1.  Remain calm and composed
2.  Dial 000 if safe to do so
3.  Follow situation emergency plan if there is one in place for current situation.
4.  Seek instruction from your supervisor
Response to Electrical Incident/Shock
1.  Make area safe
2.  Always DIAL 000 ambulance to come & assess
3.  Contact Energy Safe & WorkSafe
