Audit regulation opportunities
Regulatory oversight is to be undertaken in Europe outside the profession, as it is in the US through the PCAOB. The PCAOB and China’s Securities Regulatory Commission are moving towards agreement on cross-border inspections. Moore Stephens is recognised and included in references by regulators in Europe as a top 10 global network and will come under greater global, not just national, scrutiny. But, there are not enough players in the current audit market given all of the independence restrictions, so there are good opportunities for the next 10 top global networks after the Big 4 for audit or advisory work. This breakout will summarise global regulatory direction and then focus on business opportunities for Moore Stephens.
Mike Hathorn, Jens Poll / TBC
