Bus Privilege Registration and Transportation Information

(For Shrewsbury students attendingAssabet Valley Regional Technical High School)

Shrewsbury students planning on attending AVRTHS must complete the attached paper form to obtain Bus Privileges. Only students attending the Shrewsbury Public Schools should be registering online in the Powerschool Parent Portal.

This form can also be picked up at the Central Office, 100 Maple Ave.

Registration forms are due to Shrewsbury Public Schools by 4:30pm on June 3, 2013. There is no fee for students attending AVRTHS. However, any registrations received after the June 3 deadline will be considered late and a $50 fee per student will be due in order to be granted bus privileges. Please send/drop off the completed form to the School TransportationDepartment, 100 Maple Ave., Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Forms do not need to be completed prior to acceptance or final decision to attend Assabet is made.

When finalized, all routing information will be mailed to the student’s home in late August. (Please note – there are only two buses that pick-up/drop-off students at AVRTHS. Bus routes to the school can begin as early as 6:00am and duration of the route can be as long as one hour and twenty-five minutes both ways depending on enrollment.)

NOTE: Each year an application needs to be filled out for every child that will be taking the school bus to AV even if no fee is due.

Applications received after 4:30pm on June 3, 2013 will be subject to a late fee of $50.00 per student. Late applications will be processed based upon payment in full. Please be advised that bus routes WILL NOT be revised due to late applications.

Bus information will be mailed home in late August. We will NOT be issuing bus passes for the 2013-2014 school year. Both bus drivers and school staff will have student rosters at all times for student ridership verification.
