Burrishoole Cemetery, Burrishoole Abbey, Newport, Co. Mayo

Burrishoole Cemetery is located along the north shore of Clew Bay west of Newport at the Burrishoole Abbey.Burrishoole Abbey was built by the Dominican Friars in the fifteenth century. The ruins are still impressive. Graves are located both inside and outside of the ruins with a newer cemetery located to the north of the abbey as you drive in. All of the graves I transcribed were in the older section around the abbey.
