Stallholder Event Information

9:00am to 4:00pm
Burns Bay Road, Lane Cove (as part of the LaneCoveVillage Fair)
Welcome to Sustainability Lane 2016!
Whether you are returning from last year, or joining us for the first time, it is great to have you on board. I hope you find Sustainability Lane a rewarding experience.
Sustainability Lane is sure to be a fun and worthwhile event. We have a diverse array of stalls from community groups and businesses as well as a jam-packed entertainment program.
There are just a few important things to keep in mind to ensure that you are able to make the most of the day.
If you plan on having a petition or campaign on the day you cannotalign your material with a particular political party. Advocating for or against an issue is allowable, advocating for or against a political party is not. Sustainability lane is a non political event and as a stallholder you must adhere to this.
Stallholder responsibility
The nominated stall holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all matters set out in this brochure. Council maintains a non political policy for all Sustainability Lane stalls and events and we as stallholders will comply with this policy.
This policy has been put in place to ensure that the general public can easily differentiate whether Council is sponsoring an activity or the actions are solely of the community.
Community Groups are allowed to run petitions at the event provided they:-
1.Comply with Council’s Guide to petitions or the relevant Parliament’s guidelines, depending in on to whom the pedestrian is addressed. In this regard petitions will need to be submitted to Council for checking, 14 days prior to the event.
2.The wording must comply with the key principles under Council’s Code of Conduct for Community Committee Members on Council.
3.Names for petitions are be collected within the individual stall of the group sponsoring the petition, with the stall clearly named and branded as the individual group.
Stallholders are not to promote political agenda’s, in the context of Sustainability Lane, this refers to a prohibition of any material relating to electioneering, for example political party logo, brochures etc. All materials must be issue based not “party” aligned.
