Burapha University was originally established as the Bang Sean College of Education on July 8, 1955 and offered degrees in education. The college then developed into a branch campus of Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok in 1974, offering degrees in several other areas. In 1990, the Bang Saen campus was upgraded to a fully accredited university and renamed Burapha University, which means “University of the East”. Today the university offers a wide variety of degrees in many disciplines of the sciences, technologies, health sciences and humanities and social sciences. At present there is an enrollment of over 45,000 on the three campuses, including Chon Buri, Sa Kaeo and Chanthaburi.

or IELTS score of not less than 6.0 or other forms of comparable assessments approved by Burapha University / For candidates entering plan research only
1. Graduate with a master degree in nursing

1. Graduate with a master degree in nursing or health science (health science
graduates are required to take additional nursing science/theory courses plus
nursing in specific area at a master level in both theoretical and practical parts.
In the case that a student has experience working or teaching in a clinic, onlytaking theoretical courses is required.

1) A candidate must have a strong academic background in English and research skills, and ability to carry out an independent piece of research in the field of English language teaching.
2) A candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or above, with at least 2 years of teaching/ educational work experience.
3) A candidate must submit a three–page written proposal of an appropriate research topic in English language teaching and give a presentation on the interview.
Plan A: Scheme A2 (Coursework and thesis) and Plan B (Coursework and Independent Study)
1) A candidate must have completed qualifications according to the regulations of Burapha University Regarding Graduate Studies of B.E. 2552.
2) A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in any field, with at least 12 credits or equivalent of English courses.
3) Under the consideration of the Faculty Committee, Faculty of Education.
Ph.D. in TEGL / - TOEFL or IELTS scores of 550 and 6.5, respectively, or BUU English Proficiency Test score based on the University Notification, or other English proficiency teats equivalent to the accepted criteria / Plan 1.1 (A doctoral dissertation amounts to 48 credits, with no formal coursework requirements)
The candidates must:
1) Have a master’s degree with at least 3 years working experience.
2) Have communicative competence in English by means of anin-depth interview process conducted by the selection committee.
3) Have published research in refereed journals or have written textbooks on teaching English as a global language which are not a research study or a part of a master’s degree thesis.
4) Have TOEFL or IELTS score of at least 550 and 6.5, respectively, or BUU Proficiency Test score based on the University Notification, or other English proficiency tests equivalent to the accepted criteria. Native speakers of English are exempted from these requirements.
5) Enroll and pass the English course 447600: Research Paper Writing for Graduate Studies 3(3-0-6) provided by the Program, if do not have the required proficiency of English as stated, or
6) Upon the consideration of the Curriculum Committee of the Ph.D. (TEGL) Program, the International Graduate Studies Center, Faculty of Education, Burapha University, has the discretion to accept or reject the candidate.
Plan 2.1: (A doctoral dissertation amounts to at least 36 credits and take required and elective courses at least 12 credits)
The candidates must:
1) Have a master’s degree in any field.
2) Have communicative competence in English demonstrated by means of an in-depth interview process conducted by the selection committee.
3) Have TOEFL or IELTS score of at least 550 and 6.5, respectively, or BUU Proficiency Test score based on the University Notification, or other English proficiency tests equivalent to the accepted criteria. Native speakers of English are exempted from these requirements.
4) Enroll and pass the English course 447600: Research Paper Writing for Graduate Studies 3(3-0-6) provided by the Program, if do not have the required proficiency of English as stated, or
5) Upon the consideration of the Curriculum Committee of the Ph.D. (TEGL) Program, the International Graduate Studies Center, Faculty of Education, Burapha University, has the discretion to accept or reject the candidate.
M.A. / - The program is for both native speakers of English and non-native speakers of English who have IELTS scores of 5.5 or TOEFL 500, or equivalent. / - Ability in oral, aural and written English
- Academic qualifications
The minimum academic qualification for entry to the program is a Bachelor’s degree.
- Skills in information and communication technology (ICT)
Applicants will be expected to be skilled in word processing and other basic ICT techniques, and to be able to use e-mail to access Internet resources and to conduct web-based research.
Ph.D. in HRD / - The program is for both native speakers of English and non-native speakers of English who have IELTS scores of 5.5 or TOEFL 500, or passing the BUU test or equivalent. / - Ability in oral, aural and written English
- Academic qualifications
The minimum academic qualification for entry to the program is a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree accordingly to the condition in the application.
