BTC Financial Scholarship Application

Broadway Theatre Connection (BTC) provides a limited number of scholarships to qualifying individuals for our 2014Winter Intensive to be held December 29-31, 2015 at the MUNY.

To be considered for a BTC Financial Scholarship, please submit this completed scholarship application and supporting documents to Broadway Theatre Connection as soon as possible. The deadline to receive the applications and necessary documents is November 15th. Scholarship Recipients will be notified by December 1st, 2014.

All applicants must be registered for the 2014 Winter Intensive and have uploaded a completed application in order to be considered for a scholarship. Please be sure that your application is complete and uploaded through Active Network. Please contact in order to have the $200 deposit waived until scholarships have been announced.

Please note that scholarship recipients will be expected to participate in the entirety of the workshop, including full-time attendance, full participation in all classes and seminars, and performance in the end of workshopshowcase.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

1) Please attach a complete copy including relevant schedules of your 2013 federal Income tax return and a copy of your current paystub (Applicant/ applicant’s parents or guardians). Please black out your SSN and any other personal information, as BTC only needs to know your Total Adjusted Gross Income (as well as mitigating factors) and your Total Number of Dependents.

2) Please attach a brief essay (maximum of 200 words) written by a parent or guardian of the applicant describing the family’s financial circumstances. Please describe any matters of financial hardship that may not be apparent from examining the tax returns of the applicant’s parents or guardians.

3) Please attach a brief essay (maximum of 250 words) written by the applicant explaining “Why I should be considered for the BTC Financial Scholarship”, in which the applicant describes his/her motivation for attending our Summer Musical Theatre Workshop, what he/she hopes to gain from attending, his/his professional aspirations in the arts, and his/her ability levels in voice, acting, and/or dance.

4) Please attach one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or advisor who can vouch for the applicant’s work ethic in the classroom and performance skills.

5) applicants must list the URL of a YouTube video of applicant singing and/or dancing.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER

BTC shall be the sole decision-maker regarding the award of any scholarship, and its decision shall be final.

BTC is under no obligation to provide any scholarship, and all scholarships are subject to funding availability.

Submitting a scholarship application does not create any contractual relationship between the applicant, his or her parents or guardians, and BTC.

Neither the applicant nor the applicant’s parents or guardians shall have any legal or equitable recourse against BTC concerning any scholarship or scholarship application.

BTC is not liable for any expenses incurred in connection with applicant’s attendance at the 2014 Summer Workshop.
