a)Timpani’s at WMCA – Insurance (Lorne Melnyk to present)

  • Quotes appear to be costly for what is required. Lorne Melnyk to request from the insurance underwriters if we can omit Liability coverage on the insurance package. Due at Feb. Meeting.

b)Grant request letters were sent to BSD (COMPLETED)

a)Fruit Sale Administrator report: Rob Starkell

b)Fruit sale Planning – set review & planning committee for coming school year; also need anyone to come forward about applying for contract

  • A request was made to find a volunteer to assist in modernizing the fruit sale database and making it more efficient. Several board members will ask friends associates to see if someone suitable can assist in this task.
  • A committee for reviewing next year’s fruit sale contact was determined:

Myrna Large; Graydon Cramer; Dave Simard; Rob Starkell

c)Determine cleaning & repair contract for end of school year. Set committee to draft a contract outlining the process. Brent Campbell has been contacted to see if he wishes to do the cleaning again.

  • The Board needs a contract and job description for Brent Campbell. The Band Directors will send information for the contract to Myrna Large and she will assist in creating these documents. A draft document will be presented at the February meeting.

d)Music Monday funding ($400 yearly was approved last year – See 01/20/16 meeting minutes)

  • This money is now available for Music Mondays

VIIIMiscellaneous

  • Request: The Brandon Community Orchestra would like to use the new Timpani drum set under the supervision of Jared Fuller. Approved by the board.
  • A cell phone for Janet was set up to use for a previous fruit sale. The cell phone information was removed from the BSIMA website and the cell phone was cancelled.
