I, the undersigned full-time salaried official veterinarian, authorised thereto by the Veterinary Authority of the Republic of South Africa hereby certify that:

  1. the products described above come from an establishment which is approved and supervised by the competent authority of South Africa and is registered by AQSIQ. The producers are in compliance with the national requirements and are allowed free sale.
  2. the raw materials were caught in the country’s domestic sea or in the open sea or were derived from farming aquatic animals or as a by-product from plants manufacturing aquatic products for human consumption. No aquatic animals which died abnormally or were killed for disease eradication were used.
  3. the products have been subject to a heat treatment of at least 85°C for 15 minutes throughout its substance, or have been treated by another method recognized by the AQSIQ to be equivalent.
  4. effective measures have been taken to prevent contamination both during and after the production process.

5.the product does not contain harmful substances which pose a risk to public or animal health and are in compliance with the safety and hygiene standards of the People’s Republic of China concerning fish oil, fish meal and other aquatic animal proteins. The products are not fit for human consumption.

  1. the product have been subjected to tests by an officially approved laboratory using PCR or other effective methods with negative results to ruminant ingredients.
  2. the product does not contain any other protein other than aquatic protein and is not contaminated by any products of animal origin from third countries.
  3. a random sample taken prior to dispatch confirms the following:

Salmonella: absent in 25g; n=5, c=0, m=0 M=0;
Enterobacteriaceae: n=5, c=2, m= 10 M=300 in 1g;

where:

n = number of samples to be tested

m = threshold value for the number of bacteria; the result is considered satisfactory if the number of bacteria in all samples does not exceed m;

M = maximum value for the number of bacteria; the result is considered unsatisfactory if the number of bacteria in one or more samples is M or more;

c = number of samples the bacterial count of which may be between m and M, the samples still being considered acceptable if the bacterial count of the other samples is m or less.

  1. the end product is packaged in new, clean, sealed, impermeable, moisture resistant material with a label containing the official approval number of the establishment and the words “not for human consumption” on it. Bulk containers are thoroughly cleansed and disinfected with an approved disinfectant.
