Brush! Early Childhood Dental Health Project

In (City/Region)

(City), (State)… (Station) will launch a series of on-air messages and teacher training workshops in support of the Brush! Early Childhood Dental Health Project. The project, funded by the Delta Dental Foundation, will bring dental health education to (city/region) area preschool teachers, their students, families and staff.

Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in the U.S., and children miss 51 million hours of school every year due to oral health problems. Children who are absent from school miss out on critical instruction time, especially in the early grades where basic reading and math are a focus.

(Station) is one of nine public television stations in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana working with educators in their communities to improve the oral health of young children. The Brush! Early Childhood Dental Health Project is a blend of media – TV and online – and local pre-school teacher training workshops all designed to help improve the oral health of young children in (city/region).

(Station) will broadcast thirteen oral health video messages in rotation in 2014-2015, as well as field in-person workshops and online resources for teachers to use with their pre-school students and their families.
