- Find Fourth of July fireworks – from high atop Vista View Park -

WHAT: Looking for a prime spot for enjoying the Fourth of July fireworks? Look no farther than Vista View Park in Davie. Last year more than a thousand people did just that, taking advantage of the hilly park’s status as one of the highest elevations in South Florida. This year Fireworks Viewing will be offered all evening, and dependent on weather conditions, visitors may be able to see the displays from Davie, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Plantation, Sunrise, and possibly even Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood. Most of these shows are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., but you’re welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets and come early to get a good spot – the park opens at 8 a.m., and the entry fee is good for admission all day; present your receipt for reentry. Admission before 7:30 p.m. will be the park’s regular weekend and holiday gate entrance fee of $1.50/person (children 5 and under free); admission will go to $2/person at 7:30 p.m.

You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments, although no hard liquor and no glass containers are allowed. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis, and no fireworks (including sparklers), grilling, or horses will be permitted in the park for this special event.
