Bromyard Youth Club - #BromyardYouth

By Chloe Thomas – Love

Over the years people have complained that Bromyard wasn’t a place that was suitable for young people to hang out as there was not much to do. After hearing this some very kind and considerate individuals came together and decided to start a Youth Club.

This Youth Club started a few weeks ago now and has become very popular, with more young people joining nearly every week.

The club has a range of fun activities and some very kind and helpful workers who socialise with the club members and always make them feel welcome. Even with new people joining each week and with the area becoming more crowded, they still get to know each and every person and make sure they are happy in and out of club. They have even created some rules to follow using the ideas of the club members so that everything stays well organised but also fair for everyone.

The workers have taken into account the ideas of the people going there as they like to express that this is their club and they should do what they like as long as it follows the rules. The club members have the choice of what they want to do each week and they get to choose what they want to happen to advertising, such as the logo.

Some activities over the weeks have been pebble painting, smoothie making, candyfloss making, designing the rules and the logo, painting, knitting, sumo wrestling, milkshake making, drawing, colouring and pool. However if the people of the club want to add anything else the club workers give them the option to do so.

Anyone can join as long as they supply £1 each week for every person which helps to pay for the cost of the materials used. However, if you forget to bring money one week the club workers are very understanding and let you pay that week’s money the week after.

If you want to join and you are between the ages 11 – 16 then you can go to Student Services (where TLC is held) with your £1 as long as you have a parents permission.
