WHY BECOME A KNIGHT?

From the moment of our founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus. We are men of faith and men of action.

In today’s world, many Catholic men are looking to fulfill their desire to spend meaningful time with their family, to serve their community and their church, and to grow in their faith. Joining the Knights of Columbus provides like-minded men and their families with volunteer opportunities and activities that accomplish these goals. If you are such a man who is dedicated to making a difference, membership in Council 7667 of the Knights of Columbus is for you!

WHO ARE THE KNIGHTS?

Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are actively committed to making our community a better place, while supporting our Catholic Church.

Knights share camaraderie with men who hold values similar to yours. We are involved within our community; we support our local Catholic Church and its causes; we work toward deepening our faith; and we believe in protecting and enhancing our family life.

The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic lay organization with more than 1.9 million members in 15,300 councils throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and South Korea.

KNIGHTS… SERVING WORLDWIDE!

In 2017, the Knights of Columbus set new records in charitable giving for the 18th consecutive year. Our order-wide charitable contributions increased in 2017 by more than $2.3 million over the previous year to a record $175,550,680. In addition, we achieved our highest level of charitable service, volunteering more than 72.5 million hours. The number of service hours contributed by members rose in 2017 by more than one million hours over the 2016 total, with each member donating nearly a full work-week on average.

Our charitable activities encompass an almost infinite variety of local, national and international projects. From international charitable partnerships with Special Olympics, the Global Wheelchair Mission and Habitat for Humanity to our own Food for Families and Coats for Kids projects and other purely local charities, the opportunity to work together with fellow Knights and their families is virtually endless.

We undertake these acts of charity because we see those in need through the eyes of faith. Moreover, in the Knights of Columbus, we approach these acts of charity together. Pope Benedict XVI called this the “practice of love… as a community.”

If you’d like to be a part of an international organization of more than 1.9 million Catholic men whose principal work involves helping others in need, we’d like to meet you and invite you to join us.
