Quote of the Week
- “Giving up on your goal because of one setback is like slashing your other three tires because you got a flat”
- Keep that in mind for the week when you are having a down moment in the week
Special Events On-Campus:
- Thank you for coming to Andrew Sleighter
- Had 43 UPACers show up on top of 180 people that came to the show
- Somsen Events: What other jobs can we have?
- We have been lucky enough to have so many volunteers from UPAC show up so we are looking for any suggestions on some more jobs we could have there.
- Bathroom escort – could have people in corners of somsen to direct them to the bathroom
- Send people to the smaug to get people to come
- Like this idea if they are out of their shell
- Probably uncomfortable for people to go up to people and tell them to come to the event not as outspoken
- Don’t have to be up in their face can just tell people who are with friends or on facebook or getting something to eat. You don’t have to be a bother.
- Have it on sign up sheet as a separate job so those who want to do it can sign up for it
- Helping Halley with PR – snapchat, instagram, and have them download the UPAC app
- Staying in the auditorium and mingle
- People don’t really stay and do that
- More people talking and recruiting for UPAC
- At the board retreat we talked about doing surveys
- Having people going around and asking about potential events and gathering them
- Could ask social media questions
- Could use those as a drawing or raffle
- Putting someone on the stairs of the balcony instead of upstairs to stop people before they go all the way up
- Could have a UPAC table to promote and have the suggestion box and recruit members
Special Events Off Campus:
- 1 Brewer ticket left
- If anyone knows anyone that wants to go then tell them quickly
- Joe thought it was the cubs game not the brewers game
- $5 Bowling
- October 24th
- Discussion
- Suggestion to start but at 10:45pm to make sure the people aren’t waiting for the doors to open at 11pm
- We have them start at 10:30 because we have usually 2 shuttles filled when we first start.
- It is a little awkward to have them wait for a long time in the bowling alley
- It usually isn’t too awkward in the alley
- They would show up later for the bus if the bus comes later
- Could we have a sign in krysko about the bus?
- Yes
- Can we get two shuttles for the first trip? Or can they stand in a dorm entrance instead?
- They can stand in kryzsko and the two shuttles would only be worth it for the first and very last ride
- We will try 10:45pm for this bowling night
- Motion
- Maggie makes a motion to host $5 Bowling at Westgate Bowl on Saturday, October 24th. Doors open at 11pm, bowling is from 11pm-1am. Tickets go on saleThursday, October 22nd at 9am in the UPAC office. Shuttle provided from Minne parking lot starting at 10:45pm.
- Seconded by: Kate Edstrom
- No Discussion
- 1 abstaining
- Motion Passes
- Wild Game Bus Captain
- Game is on Tuesday October 27th
- Game at 7:00pm and bus leaves from Minne at 3pm
- Maggie will send out an email with who gets chosen as the bus captain.
Concerts:
- Thank you for coming to Light it Up
- Any feedback about the event?
- We should never scratch the discs during the songs
- How was the venue?
- Better then the gym, would have been too big
- At the doors overheard that it was very cool got a lot of positive feedback
- If we do it again we should make sure they only take one glow item. Music was too loud to try and tell them
- Have people standing in front of the table instead of behind
- Could have the items behind the table and give them to people
- Have the glow table at the door
- Could use a conference or dining hall room to hear better
- Keep it in the same room and have a sign
- Interesting to see what it would be like with having it not being on homecoming week if we were to do it again
PR Print:
- Thanks to everyone who put up posters today
- Updated Whiteboards
- Looking for new whiteboard stuff in the cities this weekend
PR Tech:
- Wild and Movie Events are done
- Continue to invite your friends
- PLEASE add Halley so she can invite you to the events even if you don’t want to add the rest of the board

- Sue’s Drawing for Purple Pass Sales
- Giving away 2 or 4 tickets away at Grocery Bingo for Valleyscare
- 2 tickets to one person or 4 tickets to two different people
- How is she doing it at grocery bingo if she normally does it for people who pay with purple pass?
- Just doing a regular raffle
- We will do it on the app
- We had 55 tickets that are ordered for Valleyscare
- Don’t want to take a lot away from the students that will buy them
- Benefit of doing two is doing one earlier and one later to try and reach everyone
- Valleyscare is popular so we should probably only do one
- Can give Sue some other opportunities if she would like to later
- Final consensus stick with two tickets to one person
Assistant Director:

Director:
- Last week suggestions:
- Shorter meetings
- Working on it but sometimes there is a lot of information needed to get to the members
- No Thursday night events because of Mugshots
- We know some people can’t always make events on Thursday but sometimes Thursday night events are the best for campus because it is has less night classes. Keep that in mind if you cant make it, you can miss a few and still be at attendance
