METHOD OF ELIMINATION: Pools throughout. Categories may be amalgamated. However, results shall be calculated in categories of their original entry. The Golden Score (2 min) will be in operation throughout the competition.
NO LICENCE – NO COMPETITION – NO EXCEPTIONS. Competitors MUST produce a valid BJA or affiliated licence and copy of their birth certificate/passport when booking in. WESTERN AREA must be specified in the entrants licence. Only affiliated licence holders whose stated club is located within the BJA Western Area are eligible to enter. Players must have held the appropriate licence for at least 90 days (from 11 July 2010).

BOYS: U30 kg, U34 kg, U38 kg, U42 kg, U46 kg, U50 kg, U55 kg, U60 kg, U66 kg, O66 kg
GIRLS: U32 kg, U36 kg, U40 kg, U44 kg, U48 kg, U52 kg, U57 kg, U63 kg, O63 kg
CADET (Competitors born 1995 – 1996 inclusive) Min grade: Green Belt Contest duration: 3 mins
Strangles (Shime-waza) are permitted, Armlocks (Kansetsu-waza) are NOT permitted
BOYS: U38 kg, U42 kg, U46 kg, U50 kg, U55 kg, U60 kg, U66 kg, U73 kg, U81 kg, U90 kg, O90 kg
GIRLS: U40 kg, U44 kg, U48 kg, U52 kg, U57 kg, U63 kg, U70 kg, O70 kg
JUNIOR (Competitors born 1992 – 1994 inclusive) Min grade: Blue Belt Contest duration: 4 mins
Strangles & Armlocks (Shime-waza & kansetsu-waza) are permitted
YOUNG MEN: U55 kg, U60 kg, U66 kg, U73 kg, U81 kg, U90 kg, U100 kg, O100 kg
YOUNG WOMEN: U44 kg, U48 kg, U52 kg, U57 kg, U63 kg, U70 kg, U78 kg, O78 kg
BOOKING IN & WEIGHING IN The Booking in & weighing in will be open at the WISE at the following times:
PRE-CADET & CADET: 09.00am - 10:00am
JUNIOR: 10.00am - 10:30am
Male competitors must weigh in wearing competition acceptable judogi trousers, 0.5kg allowance.
Female competitors must weigh in wearing competition acceptable judogi trousers and T-shirt, 0.6kg allowance.
Competitors are NOT ALLOWED to change anywhere other than in changing rooms.
Results (top 4 competitors in each category) from the trials will form the selection criteria for the Western Area competitors at the 2010 British Championships, to be held on the 9th & 10th October 2010 at iceSheffield. Players unavailable through international duties or sickness (doctor’s note required) will be considered for entry to the British Championships through the wild card system; subject to places being available and the approval of both the Western Area and the BJA Performance Directorate.
Entry forms for the British Championships will be available to the top 4 in each weight category for completion/payment on the day. Paper entries must be accompanied by payment and proof of citizenship. Online entries will be checked against the Western Area Trials results. No weight changes will be allowed at the British Championships.
This is a white judogi event. However, players competing in the 2010 British Championships must be in possession of a blue and a white judogi.
COST: £10.00 per competitor. Spectators: £3.00
NO MEDALS WILL BE PRESENTED AT THIS EVENT

THE ORGANISERS RESERVE THE DISCRETIONARY RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY.
THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR’S DECISION WILL BE FINAL.
COACHES: Only accredited coaches allowed matside when their players are competing
PHOTOGRAPHY: Spectators wishing to use photographic equipment must register. The BJA Western Area does not permit the use of mobile phones for photographic purposes.
