British Council Kenya IELTS Refund Policy

For Refund, please ask to see our Refunds Policy

1.  If you are a registered IELTS candidate you can request:

·  a cancellation of your registration

·  a transfer of your test date (subject to availability)

·  a change of test module (subject to availability)

You must make these requests more than 5 weeks before the date of the test you have registered for.

All requests will incur an administration fee of 25% of the IELTS test fee.

2.  No refunds are given for cancellations, requests for transfer of test dates, or requests for changes of test module made within 5 weeks of the test date you have registered for, unless you are unable to attend the examination for the following reasons:

·  Medical – you have been admitted to hospital or suffered serious injury

·  Loss or bereavement – you have suffered the death of your parents, guardian, brother/sister or child

·  Hardship/trauma – you have been the victim of crime or the victim of a traffic accident

If you are requesting a refund in these circumstances, you will need to provide documentary evidence to support your claim, and refunds will be at the discretion of the British Council.

You must make these requests no more than 5 days after the date of the test you have registered for.

3.  Refunds are not given for IELTS Study Packs

Applying for a refund

You need to submit the following documentation to apply for a refund:

·  Refund application form (available from the British Council)

·  Copy of bank deposit slip, receipt or payment confirmation

·  Copy of your photo identification document

·  Documentation supporting the reason for your refund application (original medical certificate, death certificate or police report)

Issuing refunds

·  Refunds are issued by electronic fund transfer to the applicant’s account

·  Refunds can only be issued to third parties if you give us written authorisation

·  It will take up to 3 weeks from the date of receipt of your application (If approved) for a refund to be issued.

·  NO REFUNDS CAN BE APPLIED FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS AFTER THE DATE WHEN YOU MADE THE PAYMENT.
