SCAN – Stop Child Abuse Now. It is a project of El Shaddai involving in advocacy, campaigning and intervention on Child Rights and Juvenile Justice.
It has been observed that children who are victims of various offences require support from the pre-trial stage till the trial is concluded. Often, after the conclusion of the trial, the child needs support for the healing process. SCAN provides this psychological and social support and also provides them with legal assistance. The rehabilitation and reintegration of these children which needs to be facilitated shall be taken care of by SCAN. Therefore SCAN will provide holistic services for all children as we believe that every child matters. SCAN monitors cases by networking with the police, forensic medical doctors and the concerned public prosecutor. SCAN also gives legal advice and assistance to the police during investigation. It has been working towards more case conferences with the police to ensure more effective handling of cases.
Khana Ghar – It is a Centralized Kitchen facility with the capacity of producing food for all the ESCT Homes, Cottages and Shelters in North Goa which accommodate 400 plus children. This project also ensures to prevent unnecessary wastage of resources making the process more cost efficient and sustainable.

Community Development Programmes:
After working for a decade in the field of rescuing children at risk, we discovered that the rise in street children in cities is due to the migration of communities from the villages for survival and livelihood. This in turn burdens the infrastructure of the cities, giving rise to socio-economic problems.
In order to stop this viscous cycle, El Shaddai has decided to embark on Community development projects by adopting one village at a time. We plan to bring about a holistic development through various schemes:
· Community Centres: Providing educational support and nutritious meal to school going children.
· Adult Education: Providing illiterate men and women with the opportunity to read and write.
· Micro-Finance: Empowering housewives by training them in various skills/trade and opening avenues to generate income.
· Bore-wells: The economy of the villages is fully dependant on agriculture. This in turn depends on the annual rainfall. With global warming and drastic climatic changes, rainfall has become unpredictable. This adversely affects agricultural outputs – the very sustenance of the community. Digging bore-wells will provide them with alternative source of water to carry their farming. This will not only improve the economy of the community but also prevent them from migrating to the cities for better prospects.
· Gift a goat, cow, piglets and chickens: This provides the community an alternative means of livelihood.
