Expectations / All students are expected to set academic learning goals to achieve the following: pass Science 8 STAAR test, get a score at or above grade level on Stanford 10 Science, get a passing grade in Science 8 every cycle in the report card.
All students are also expected to:
  1. Bring required materials every Science class
  2. Come to class on time and start warm-up immediately
  3. Complete homework and turn it in on time
  4. Minimize unnecessary talking and actively participate in all class activities
  5. Practice best behavior by not eating, not chewing gum and not playing around in class especially when doing lab activities.
  6. Follow ALL school rules. Pay close attention to policies regarding the dress code and cell phone use.

Attendance / Students can meet the set academic learning goals above only when they are present in class everyday. If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to get the makeup work as soon as he/she comes back to schooland talk to the teacher as to when the makeup work is due.
Tardy students must sign a tardy log and 3 tardies willresult to detention. Late assignments will get a maximum grade of 80 %.
HISD Policy:
Regular attendance and punctuality shall be required of every student. Students have the responsibility to take advantage of their educational opportunity by attending all classes daily and on time unless circumstances prevent them from doing so.
Assignments / Assignments will include labs, projects, classwork not finished in class, tests/quizzes including common assessments, summative assessments and benchmarks.
