BRIEF NOTE ON DEPARTMENTAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

Dist. Tribal Welfare (TRICOR) established during the year 1974 to uplift the Scheduled Tribe families by providing various schemes to develop Socially, Economically.
Total population of the district is 26.70 lakhs as per 2001 census out of which 1.34 lakhs are Scheduled Tribes which constitutes 5.05% of the district population. There are (3) Revenue Divisions and 46 Mandals in the district Sangareddy Division having a jurisdiction over 15 Mandals; Medak 18 Mandals, and Siddipet 14 Mandals. Out of 46 Mandals, 5 Mandals of erstwhile Narsapur Taluka, i.e., Narsapur, Hathnoora, Jinnaram, Shivampet and Kowdipally are covered under MADA Scheme and other 41 Mandals under DTG Scheme. Predominant Tribals in the District are Lambadas and Yerukalas Most of the Tribals in them are settled agriculturists.

Inter Caste Marriages ( Incentive Cash Awards):
Incentive Cash Award Rs. 10,000/- to each Inter Caste Married couples sanctioned to (3) Inter Caste Married couples during 2008-09 and (1) couple during 2009-10. Govt. recently enhanced the said award to the tune of Rs.50,000/-.

Forest Dwellers Recognition of Forest Rights Act, of 2006 (ROFR)
