Brief about MBCFPCL and progress made since in last two years…

Introduction:

Madhya Bharat Consortium of Farmers Producer Company Limited (MBCFPCL) is a state federation of farmer’s producers companies of Madhya Pradesh working through network of 102 farmer’s producers companies and covering more than 2.24 lakh farmers of 44 Districts of Madhya Pradesh. This organization was promoted by Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC), GoI New Delhi, with help of MPSRLM, few Development Organizations with financial assistance from Rabo Bank Foundation.

OBJECTIVE

To create an umbrella support to member FPOs particularly on market, financial linkages, brand development, value adding, agri extension, insurance and leverage & transfer the benefits of the economy of scale

VISION-

Transforming agriculture of > 1 million small & marginal farmers of Madhya Pradesh by 2025 from means of subsistence to profitable livelihood enterprises through promotion of collectivization, branding and better positioning in the supply/value chain”

  • Business in Qtr-3 (2017-18) 2100.00 Lakh (Trading of seeds & commodity in partnership with ITC and Vippy Industries Limited)
  • Business in year 2016-17 - INR -15366 .00Lakh (14754 Lakh trading of pulses +612.00 Trading of Seeds & Maize)
  • Total business in 2015-16= 68.37 Crore (Pulses Trading 6637.00 Lakh & Seeds and Others =200 Lakh)
  • Extended business development support to 46 member FPOs and 25600 farmers directly benefitted in increased income range from INR 3000-10000/farmer in year 2016-17
  • Currently actively working with 56 FPOs and will cover all 92 up the ends of this financial year 2017-18.
  • Target of total member FPOs up to 31st March 2018 is 100
  • Incentive of INR 28.5 Lakh distributed to member FPOs who have done business with MBCFPCL

Key Progress made during 2017-18 ( till date)…

 We have succeeded in declaration of FPCs at par with cooperatives by the State Government for all Government schemes benefits which is a biggest breakthrough and help FPCs in getting Government assistance easily.

 MBCFPCL has mobilized Central Govt Funds of INR 1800 Lakh (for 30 FPOs@60 Lakh each) for seeds processing and storage infrastructure development under CSIF scheme of GoI which will great support for FPOs and Madhyabharat for enhancement of seeds business activities by the FPOs

 Established trade agreements with big corporate buyers like ITC Limited, ADM for Wheat and Soya and Vippy Industries for Soybean while several others are in process.

 Exploring linkages to supply of commodities to Govt agencies like SFAC, MPCSC and Nafed for Wheat, Paddy, Pulses and Maize under Govt schemes like PSF, PSS or MSP

 Entered into formal agreement with SAU (JNKVV) for development & strengthening of Pulses Seeds Supply Systems in Madhya Pradesh

 Expanded seeds marketing in 5 States like CG, Rajasthan, U.P. Bihar and Madhya Pradesh by making exclusive Dealers & Distributors network. Appointed 76 in MP, 6 in CG, 2 in Rajasthan and 5 In UP and Bihar is also in process.

 Did agreement with TCS for providing IT solution for better business management by MBCFPCL and all member FPOs

 Also did agreement with SAU for production of Organic seeds in their Farm and marketing by MBCFPCL in joint brand which is an unique initiatives in the country,

 Convinced State Government for providing 40% financial assistance of Project cost ( up to 25 Lakh) for 50 proposal of FPCs for establishment of Agri processing units in FPC’s operational areas.

Plan for Financial Year 2017-18:

  • Total Business target >INR 25.00 Crore (Seeds business & other agri input – INR 9 crore and aggregation and commodity trading business-INR 16 crore) which will be direct from our book
  • Establish trade linkage with min 5potential buyers of 5 key commodities like Wheat, Maize, Gram, Paddy and Soya
  • Facilitation of financial support to farmer producer companies – 30 crore
  • Develop complete pulses supply chain with 1 lakh farmers of Madhya Pradesh
  • Expansion of Business operations with at least 60 % member producer companies (FPCs)
  • Increase company current equity base from INR 47 lakh to Rs INR 70 lakh
  • Increase number of shareholder FPCs up to 100
  • Support to FPCs for better finance, business management and service delivery systems by promotion of IT Technologies.
  • Promotion of corporate partnership for commodity trading according to annual plan 2017-18
  • Promotion of regional collection and processing centers, value adding infrastructure for farmers' producer companies through Government or other donors support
  • Organizing training For human resource development of member FPOS
  • Promotion of e- commerce and e- Trading.
