Sharing of assets

  • Trucks; WFP confirmed today that all WFP trucks may be made available to other agencies on a capacity permitting basis. WFP should be given at least one day prior notice. Requests; contact Francis on phone # 0722711967 or 0733879731
  • Warehouses; WFP/KRC warehouse at PCPB can not offer dedicated space to other agencies as the store basically is meant for transhipment of WFP food and space available will “fluctuate”. However, agencies may request storage space through Mr. Cabe/KRC/Log/Off phone # 0722379904.
  • ACF; will share warehouse space capacity permitting, additional warehouse also available, contact Glenn Hughson phone # 0712292899
  • GOAL; may be able to share warehouse space, contact Brian Casey
    phone # 0733800688

Bottlenecks

  • Lack of proper information of “who is doing what where” hampers effective field programme implementation. However, UNHCR informed that KRC now has a matrix available that would mitigate this problem. UNHCR will forward matrix to Nakuru log cluster agencies.
  • Otherwise, no movement problems reported in Nakuru District

AOB

  • Kenyan NGOs; several agencies have come across national NGOs doing a variety of work in Nakuru District not necessarily coordinated. To improve this, all agencies are encouraged to invite national NGOs, as and when they meet them, to attend relevant coordination meetings.
  • CSB distribution in Naivasha; UNICEF nutrition officer Peter Kig’ori requested log support in distributing of CSB from NaivashaHospital to two camp sites (short distance). UNICEF Nakuru advised this may be solved by making UNICEF pick up truck available to DNO.
  • GOAL is in need of 3000 mosquito nets, UNICEF to check and revert
