Brazil-U.S. Business Council Appoints New Chair and Vice Chair
WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 8, 2016) – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Brazil-U.S. Business Council (BUSBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas F. “Mack” McLarty III, chairman of McLarty Associates, as the Council's new chair and Timothy P. Glenn, president of DuPont Crop Protection, as the Council’s new vice-chair of its board of directors.
“I am delighted and honored to serve as the Council’s chairman and am committed to working with our partner organization, CNI, to reinforce the strategic importance of a bilateral business relationship” said McLarty. “I look forward to working with Tim, the Chamber, and the member companies of the Council to both broaden and deepen this effort during my tenure.”
“I am pleased to expand my role within the Council to serve as vice-chair,” commented Glenn. “As a longtime investor in Brazil, DuPont believes in Brazil’s innovation and productive capacity, as well as its future potential. I look forward to working alongside Mack to continue strengthening economic and commercial ties between the U.S. and Brazil.”
“Mack’s and Tim’s leadership on the BUSBC’s board of directors is illustrative of the U.S. business community’s commitment to growing the commercial relationship between the U.S. and Brazil,” said Myron Brilliant, the Chamber’s executive vice president and head of International Affairs. “Our recently released study on the economic benefits of a U.S.-Brazil trade agreement demonstrates how together Brazil and the U.S.can further build their dynamic economies. With Mack’s and Tim’s expertise, we can provide an effective platform for discussion of this premise.”

Over the years, he has served as an adviser to three U.S. presidents and been the chairman and CEO of Arkla, a Fortune 500 natural gas company. Mr. McLarty is also chairman of the McLarty Companies, a fourth-generation family transportation business, with extensive investments in Brazil.
