Braille Sense Download App
Basic Information
If you have newer Braille Sense software, a Braille Sense download app is included.
To update:
Connect to wireless or LAN.
Plug into AC power.
Open Utilities.
Navigate to the last item in the Utilities Menu, “upgrade Braille Sense”.
Enter to begin.
“Upgrade Online” should be displayed.
If it is not, scroll to it.
Press enter.
The upgrade should start.
This may take a few minutes.
Your Braille Sense will restart and should be good to go.
To find the Bookshare app, press letter x from the File Manager.
Press letter b to open the Bookshare app. You must have an Internet connection to use the app.
Set Log in Settings:
1. When you have the app open, tab to Login settings.
2. Enter.
3. Write your login id. Use computer braille.
4. Press tab (F3).
5. Write your login password.
6. Check or uncheck the box for "anonymous mode".
7. Tab to "save" and press enter.
8. Your information will be checked. Press e with space when done.
Change Options:
1. From within the app, tab to "Options".
2. Press enter.
3. "Default download type" is first. Space to toggle among the options of daisy, braille, or prompt. If you choose "prompt" you will be asked to give your choice each time you download a book.
4. Tab to "default download folder". Press "enter" on this button to change the default download folder.
If you press enter, you will then scroll to the folder you
Want to set as the default. Then press space.
Enter to select the folder.
5. Tab to "save" and press enter.
Download a Book:
1. tab to "select search mode".
2. Space to toggle between the choices of "books" or "periodicals".
3. Tab to "select search method".
4. Space to toggle between "search word" or "category".
* If you choose category, then tab to the category list box. Scroll to the category you want to search for.
* If you choose to search by word, then tab to the edit box. Enter what you want to search for in the edit box.
5. Tab to "search" and press enter.
6. You will get a list of books. Use scroll keys to move up and down the list.
7. Enter on the book you want to download.
