Broadneck Select 12U Bruins
Boys Select Baseball Program
January thru October 2011
Dear potential sponsor of Broadneck Select 12UBruin Baseball Team:
The 12U Broadneck Select Bruins baseball team is seeking local community sponsorships to provide financial assistance for the 2011 baseball season. We are very appreciative of your time and financial consideration in being a sponsor for the 2011 12U Bruin Baseball Team.
The 12U Bruins are a member team of Broadneck Select Baseball, established as a self-funded, non-profit organization, in affiliation with the Broadneck Baseball and Softball Club. Broadneck Select Baseball is dedicated to providing a successful peninsula baseball feeder program for Broadneck High School. Our mission is to provide a strong opportunity for young baseball players that have the passion, commitment, and desire to compete at the highest level while remaining within the community-wide baseball system. Our goal is to instill a positive attitude, to exhibit good sportsmanship, to display the highest moral and ethical character, stressing the importance of teamwork, while developing a strong sense of camaraderie and community pride in a fun and memorable environment.
In order to continue our team development in 2011 we must maintain the aggressive schedule outlined below. However, this growth does require added expense. This is why Team Sponsorship is so vital to our existence. Your charitable donation will help us defray some of the costs of facility rental, equipment, field maintenance, uniforms, umpire expenses, and tournament registration fees. Our cumulative total is projected to exceed $12,000 for our 12U team in 2011. Your generous sponsorship helps create a more affordable opportunity for these talented young athletes to remain within their own community, as opposed to leaving for neighboring programs which subsidize their travel teams. We want them to play the game they love; we need them to play at a highly competitive level in order to reach their potential, but this does make for an expensive endeavor. In return for your sponsorship, your business name, phone number, and website address will also be listed on our organizational websites, both and to show our return support and appreciation for your contributions.
The current 12U Select Bruins have been building a successful team for the past 3 years, playing in central Maryland Travel Leagues (MABA and CBA), and in county, state and regional Tournaments. In 2009 our 10U team fielded a .500 winning percentage, playing as a first year full-time travel team in the MABA Travel League as well as 3 local tournaments. Last year as an 11U team, we concluded our season with a record of 28-16 (.636 win percentage), culminating by winning our season ending league (CBA) championship in June.
Our 2011 12U team will be playing in the Baltimore Metro Baseball League (BMB),where we will strive to improve on our 28-16 performance of 2010. BMB is the premier travel baseball league in the state of Maryland, with many of the teams who apply for entrance being denied. As for tournament play we will expand from 5 to 6 in 2011 by participating in 4 pre-season tournaments, 1 in season tournament, and 1 summer tournament, beginning our season in March and ending in July.
Once again this year we are confirmed to play in the Annapolis Open Baseball Tournament in March, The Mutiny at the Park Tournament hosted by Olney in April, the Maryland State Championship Tournament to be hosted again by Lake Shore over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend, and 1-2 tournaments at the Ripken Baseball Academy in Aberdeen. When combined with league games and scrimmages, our overall season game total will reach approximately 55 games in 2011. Local organizations that the Bruins typically play include Severna Park, Lake Shore, Pasadena, Annapolis, PAL, Kingson, Riva, Gambrills, GORC, Severn,Savage, Elkridge, and Bowie.
The 12U Bruins will prepare for the2011 season by conducting weeklyindoor winter practices during the months of January and February, focused on conditioning, pitching, catching, fielding, and hitting training. We will head outdoors to hit the practice field on March 1st.
Thank you for your donation and sponsorship support of our 12U Broadneck Select Bruins Baseball team.
