OSCAR QUALIFIERS – BALMORAL 2008

The classes are open to all, however to qualify, dogs and handlers must be resident in Ireland, Northern Ireland or Isle of Man AND the dog must have had 2 wins in Preliminary or above under I.K.C. rules (or eligible for Grade 4 (Novice) under U.K. K.C. rules.

Subject to this, the top five dogs in the Oscar Open Agility and Open Jumping classes, and the first dog in the Oscar Small Dog and Medium Dog Agility and Oscar Small Dog and Medium Dog Jumping classes will qualify for Balmoral 2008.

Please ensure you use a Europe Stamp, 1st and 2nd Class stamps are insufficient and can take up to 3 weeks to arrive!

Fouling

The Owner / Handler of any dog found fouling anywhere

in the venue will be subject to a fine of €25.00

Only pre-paid Catalogues will be available on the day €1.00/ 70p

There will be class list displayed at the ringside for each class.

Videos / Cameras

It is a Kennel Club Regulation that permission must be sought from the

Show Promoting Body for use of Video or other recording equipment.

Permission must also be obtained from the Judge in the ring on the day.

Subsequent entries … €1.00 / 70p per dog per class.

NOTE. There is a reduction of €3.00 PER EXHIBITOR for all fully paid up members of the Border Collie Club of Ireland.

Class Definitions: AGILITY

Introductory Agility is for owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained more than four first places in any Agility and/or Jumping class at an IKC licensed Agility test excluding Small Dogs class. Dogs entered in this class may not also enter Oscar Qualifiers or Premier Classes.

Preliminary Agility is confined to (a) dogs which have not won 5 first prizes in Preliminary or (b) dogs which have not won 3 first prizes in Novice or (c) dogs which have not won 2 first prizes in Open Agility.

Novice Agility is confined to dogs which have not won 5 first prizes in Novice or 2 first prizes in Open Agility.

Premier Agility is confined to dogs who have won out of Novice Agility.

Premier Small Dog Agility is confined to dogs measuring 15’’ or under at the withers. Dogs entered in this class may not also enter Introductory Agility.

Oscar Open Agility Open Jumping, is open to all.

Oscar Small Dog Agility & Jumping is confined to dogs measuring 15’’ or under at the withers.

Oscar Medium Dog Agility & Jumping is confined to dogs measuring 17’’ or under at the withers.

Note. Dogs may enter Small Dog or Medium Dog, if height conditions are fulfilled, but not both.

SHOW REGULATIONS

1. The show will be held under the Licence, Rules & Regulations of the Irish Kennel Club Ltd.

2. The show will be held at National Show Centre, Swords, Co. Dublin

3. The entry fees will be as follows: ENTRIES CLOSE: Monday 9th July 2007 (Received)

1st Entry per dog - €5.00 / £3.50 per dog, each subsequent entry €1.00 / 70p per dog per class.

CAR PARK FREE Catalogue MUST be Pre-paid €1.00/70p Show Opens at 9.00 am

4. Border Collie Club of Ireland reserve the right to refuse any entry.

5. Dogs under 6 months of age are not eligible to enter.

6. All dogs must be registered or transferred with the IKC save in the case of Greyhounds duly registered with the Irish Coursing Club. Failure to comply with the above will result in (a) the dog being disqualified from the event AND (b) the exhibitor being fined €127 - the implementation of which shall be a normal office routine. All appeals to the Irish Kennel Club should carry a fee of €6 refundable if the appeal is upheld.

7. All wins prior to the day specified for the closing of entries shall be taken into account when entering any class.

8. It is the competitors responsibility to be available for their class.

9. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the show grounds is forbidden.

10. No bitch in season is allowed on the show grounds.

11. Judges & Judging: Judging will commence at 10.00 am. In the event of any judge failing to keep his/her engagement, the committee of Border Collie Club of Ireland shall have the right to appoint another judge. No person will be allowed in the judging ring except the judge, show officials or an exhibitor taking a dog in for adjudication. The exhibit number for each dog must be clearly displayed by the handler. Border Collie Club of Ireland shall not be responsible for the exhibition of any exhibit in the ring.

12. Each exhibitor is responsible for keeping their dog under proper control at all times.

13. The catalogue will be compiled from the entry forms and while every effort will be made to have the forms correctly interpreted, the committee cannot accept any responsibility for mistakes, which bring the exhibitor within the purview of the IKC Ltd., Rule 15, section 1, or for clerical errors that may occur during compilation.

14. Exhibitors must clean up if their dog fouls the grounds, suitable facilities will be provided for this. Any exhibitor failing to clean up after their dog will be liable to a €25 fine.

15. Border Collie Club of Ireland will not be responsible for any loss or damage sustained through accident by exhibits, exhibitors or other persons attending the show.

16. Ring numbers will be distributed at the show.
